Emily
Childminder in Marksbury
My Summary
About Me
Spaces becoming available in 2026!
I’m a qualified teacher and mother to 3 children aged 8, 6 and 2.
I love my job and in my spare time you can find me doing aerial hoop.
Rio Kingman and I have recently opened a new childminding setting in Marksbury, operating from a non-domestic premises- something quite new and unique for the Bath area. Our aim is to offer families a high-quality, home-from-home environment while benefiting from the additional space and resources that a dedicated setting can provide.
My Experience
I began my childcare career working in nurseries before going on to university to train as a primary school teacher. I then worked in primary schools and later in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school, supporting children aged 4–18. During this time, I worked closely as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists to support each child’s individual communication and developmental needs. I also completed three working visits to Uganda, gaining valuable experience supporting children in a variety of educational settings.
Becoming a mother myself deepened my understanding of the importance of providing a nurturing, safe, and supportive environment, which led me to become a childminder where children feel happy, secure, and able to thrive.

Emily became such an important part of our children’s lives. She helped them grow in confidence and independence, supporting them with everyday things like getting dressed and toilet training, always with patience and care. She provided delicious, home-cooked food and took them on wonderful day trips that they were always excited about. My children truly loved going there and always felt happy, safe, and cared for. She went above and beyond to meet their individual needs and was incredibly flexible, kind, and friendly.
