About Me

I am 33 years old and my husband and I have just had our first baby. Dropping down to part time work, I am looking to supplement my salary with private tutoring.

My Experience

I am English Lead working in a Specialist School for Autism. I have a degree in English and a Masters from Oxford in Education, for which I specialised in teaching children and young adults with Autism. I teach GCSE lit and lang, Functional Skills (Entry 1-Level 2) and have previously taught English Literature A Level. My exam results are exemplary and include helping students achieve level 8 at GCSE lit and lang with over four years history of being out of education. Previously, I spent four years working with severely disabled students (SLD and PMLD) in Specialist Schools, where I was also English Lead. I can teach alternative methods of phonics such as sensory phonics and have experience with a range of communication aids including eye gaze. I am enhanced DBS checked.
