About Me

My main interests currently revolve around the home education community of which I have been a part of for the last 7 years. I enjoy organising activities and workshops, attending camps and days out. I have a large allotment where I spend a lot of my free time growing vegetables, fruit and herbs. I love cooking, swimming and travelling.

My Experience

I have home educated my two children for 7 years and have an up to date knowledge of the full national curriculum. I have extensive resources for all subjects. I have facilitated educational activities for local children for most of the 7 years. I have had a lot of community involvement with both primary and secondary children and last year I ran educational activity days to teens trialling a new life skills boardgame. Recently I have been supporting learners with their NCFE online cookery and mixed media courses. I have also supported learners in obtaining online art awards. I am currently tutoring KS1/KS2/year 7 Maths and KS1/KS2 English. The children that I tutor are schooled and home educated. I also tutor at an 11 plus centre. My eldest daughter is neurodivergent and I also privately tutor other children with SEN. I have previously volunteered at my local SEN provision for a year. I believe that having a holistic approach to education is extremely important and enjoy helping young people to achieve positive outcomes.
