About Me
I am a fully qualified Ofsted registered term time only childminder that lives in Hollingdean. I have 2 children of my own.
I offer a safe, friendly, fun and exciting environment for children.
Child led and free play is encouraged, we will have themes and activities throughout the year which the children will be supported to participate in should they wish to do so. We spend our days doing activities according to the seasons such as art and creativity, cooking, reading stories, outdoor exploring and visits to playgrounds, farms, national trust gardens and much more, as well as utilising our designated playroom and the many toys and equipment I have in my home.
As a childminder I consider my role to not only be about keeping your child safe and entertained, but also about encouraging healthy independence and curiosity.

My Experience
I am a Mum of two daughters (8 and 6). I have babysat for people for many years, and have volunteered in multiple schools as a TA and SEN support. I chose to stay at home with my children back in 2018 and then trained to become a childminder so I could enjoy time with my children whilst also caring for others.

Full Pediatric First Aid
Childminding qualification
Safeguarding and Prevent training
NCFE cache Level 2 certificate in Understanding Mental Health in the Early Years
TQUK Level 2 certificate in Understanding Autism
NCFE CACHE Level 2 award in an introduction to Neuroscience in the Early Years

We would highly recommend Karlie. Our daughter has been with her since she was 13 months, and under Karlie's care she has grown from being very worried about being separate from me, to running off in the morning without a backwards glance. Karlie has encouraged her independence, working with her on both her gross and fine motor skills, her sign language, and her ability to do things such as put on her shoes by herself. My daughter has really flourished under her care, growing in confidence, communication, physical ability and socialisation. She also plans really fun activities for the kids, both in the (air conditioned!) playroom in her house, but also out at a very wide variety of locations such as National Trust properties, forest school, play groups, the zoo, the beach, the splash pool... the list goes on. Their afternoons at Karlie's house are doing fun themed activities which my daughter has really learned skills from as well as enjoying. Karlie is conscientious and caring, taking real care over food, sleep and any other care which the children need.

When we stayed in Brighton for six months from Japan, we entrusted our 4-year-old daughter to Karlie’s House. In one word—it was the best experience she could have had, and we are deeply grateful to Karlie.
Karlie took the children out almost every day, and the range of activities was remarkably diverse. She encouraged creative and spontaneous play through contact with nature, making art, pizza-making, and many other hands-on experiences. Our daughter also frequently joined forest school sessions. Karlie has a deep understanding of how children can play and explore in nature — and this is the aspect we highly appreciate.
Although it was initially difficult for her to communicate in English, she gradually became comfortable and confident. She started engaging with Karlie and the other children without hesitation. I believe this was thanks to Karlie’s patience and her warm, attentive approach to children.
Karlie is incredibly reliable. Her safety management is excellent, and she always provides clear and detailed information in advance. Every day she sends many photos and written updates of the activities, and we truly enjoyed receiving them.
She is a wonderful educator and caregiver—we have nothing but gratitude for her.
