About Me
My name is Seli Edstrand and I am a third year university student from Vancouver, Canada. I am starting my first year of my law degree at Sussex university. I have love for working with kids and throughout the years have looked for many opportunities to help out in my community. I have been a certified nanny since I was 12 years old. I am up to date with my qualifications such as first aid and CPR certified. My passion for working with kids started when I began nannying and helping out my mom when she had my baby bother. I learned a lot from those experiences and built necessary skills for taking care of children. In addition to nannying I volunteered in high school at an elementary school. I spent my days helping the kids with their homework, organize games, and overall be a mentor and someone they could look up to. I have worked with various age groups ranging from newborn to age six. Last summer I worked a strata management firm called AWM Alliance as ann andministrative assistant and have worked in restaurant as a server with the intentions to build my customer service skills and explore other work avenues. During the school year last year I looked after two different families with kids from the ages 2-4. My love for working with kids has led me to studying law as one day I would like to be a lawyer who advocates for children rights and be the voice they may not have. Additionally I can cook, clean, help with homework, and take care of pets if this is required.

My Experience
I was 16 when my brother was born and helped my mother a lot. I learned so much from helping her with him and watching him grow up. He’s 6 years old now and I’m so thankful for everything he’s taught me. During my first and second year of university in Canada I looked after two different families kids. One family had a 2 year old boy and the other had a two girls, one was 2 and the other 5. I have my full Canadian drivers licence so if necessary I can drive, however I do not have a car. I have been babysitting since I was old enough to take the babysitting course at 12 years old. I’ve always loved taking care of children and hope to help a new family now that I’m beginning my journey here in the UK.

My Availability
I am a full time student, mondays I have one class at night, available tuesdays and wednesdays after 13:30, and weekends all day.
