About Me
Hello! I am Jade, of 'Now and Next Tutoring' based in South Liverpool and online. I am a teacher of over a decade with plentiful experience in upper KS2, primarily Year 6. I am extremely knowledgeable and passionate about primary education and particularly fostering a love of lifelong learning and building confidence in making mistakes so we can learn from them. I am a fun, patient and engaging teacher with excellent communication and support skills. To further advance my professional development, I am currently undertaking training in Integrative Counselling.
I am passionate in seeing the child as an individual and as such, plan bespoke sessions tailored to targets, misconceptions and areas of need. I like to build confidence in identifying connections between topics and subjects and developing skill that can be taken back in to the classroom and beyond.
I offer:
11+ tutoring for Blue Coat School entry exams, Maths support (arithmetic, reasoning and problem solving) and English support (phonics, spelling, writing, reading, grammar and punctuation). My tutoring includes a post-session message/quick chat in person to discuss what we've covered and a half-termly review.
My Experience
Prior to training to be a teacher, I took a gap year to work where I took a role as a teaching assistant in a school in South Liverpool. Following this, I have taught in 2 schools in Liverpool - one based in Crosby and one in Aigburth. During my career, I also spent a year teaching in Melbourne, Australia. A huge passion whilst classroom teaching was mentoring trainee teachers and supporting them in developing their own teaching style and gaining confidence in their classroom presence and curriculum delivery.
I have undertaken additional training in trauma-informed practice, working with SEND, supporting mental health in children and first aid. I undergo annual safeguarding training. I am currently studying for my Level 3 in Counselling Studies having successfully completed my Level 2 in Counselling Skills in May 2023. I am committed to gaining skills that constantly improve and develop my teaching practice.
I have tutored children in 11+ and KS2 SATs in my own time alongside this.
My Qualifications
BA (Hons) in English Literature and Language - University of Liverpool.
PGDE in Primary Education - Liverpool John Moore's University.
Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills - Stand Tall, Liverpool.
ONGOING - Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies - Stand Tall, Liverpool.
My Availability
I am open to opportunities for working with children who do not access a traditional academic setting due to home schooling or mental health/SEND needs. I typically begin tutoring from 4pm.

My Fees
- Tutoring from £35.00 per hour
I charge per 50 minute session at £40. This includes initial consultation where I also offer to read any previous school reports that may support my understanding of your child's targets. Post session I provide a brief summary of what has been covered, which is then followed by a half-termly review of coverage and future targets. I provide all planning and resourcing. I provide optional homework should families choose this.
