Hello my name is Shania. I am a Mental Health and Well-being practitioner. I am a dedicated, caring, resilient, fun, bubbly person who will always strive to help anyone. I love working with babies, children and young adults. I endeavour to create a safe environment and ensure the baby/child needs are met. I am very passionate about mental health, I will guide and support where needed. This passion has given me the ability to be patient, listen carefully and provide guidance to support your little person through childhood development.
My Experience
I have had many years of personal experience with family and close friends children from the newborn upwards. I am a god mother to my best friends son and brothers daughter. I spent many waking nights, early mornings and late evenings supporting them with a newborn. I babysit my godson often, giving the parents a break. He is now 2yrs old, talking, walking and learning new things daily.
I have worked on a mother and baby ward, supporting mums with newborns to 2yrs old. This included caring for the babies when mum was unable too. This included taking care of all needs required such as social, physical and emotional needs.
I have worked in a nursery previously.
I have also worked on a CAMHS ward and with young children with challenging behaviours.
Experience with newborn- teenagers.
My Qualifications
NVQ level Health and Social Care
Criminology and Psychology Degree
ILS trained (immediate life support)
Safeguarding level 3 adults and children.
My Availability
I am available most Fridays and weekends. Each week could differ regarding times.
I can do night shifts alternative weekends.
I am happy to babysit across Leeds, Barnsley and surrounding areas.
