About Me

Im a hardworking, committed individual with over 20 years experience as a Professional, Chiltern Trained Career Nanny in private households including with High Net Worth (HNW) clients, looking after children from Newborn to 11 years old.

Up until recently, I have been working as a private Nanny to a family in Virginia Water, with twin boys almost 2 years old. I began this role when the boys were just 4 months. Im very sad to say, that the family have, unexpectedly, had a change in circumstances, meaning that they were no longer able to keep me on. I worked with them until the end of November, and whilst I have been helping them on an adhoc basis since, I am now looking for my next permanent placement with another wonderful family!

I have a Diploma in Nursery Nursing (DNN) and NVQ Level III in Child Care & Education. I have Twin experience with 4 different families, and have looked after very young babies from birth. I have an up to date DBS, Paediatric First Aid Certificate and am a confident driver. I also have experience Proxy Parenting and Travelling (living in) alongside families should that be a requirement.

A high level of responsibility is essential for a Nanny, competency also. Reliability is also paramount. I'm competent, committed and highly organised.

...A kind, caring, gentle, loving Nanny, who adores seeing the children in my care, blossom and flourish. I gain much satisfaction from encouraging the children to try new things whilst learning to become independent, and am rewarded with huge smiles of accomplishment when they succeed. We will enjoy attending groups, swimming and socialising on playdates. Baking and being creative with arts & crafts, and getting out and about in the fresh air, to parks, forests, zoos and more! ..all while encouraging the children to join in, have lots of fun, experience the world, get a little messy and learn as we go! I believe it’s very important to have a good balance of both up and downtime, supervised and child led play, and I love the freedom to schedule that time accordingly.

Caring for children has enabled me to hone my problem solving, prioritisation skills & time management to fit in with children’s busy schedules. In a previous role of 8 years, with the children all at school, I became more of an Assistant during the day, helping the parents with household errands, tasks & children’s shopping. Im extremely capable of multitasking and I have an innate ability to be patient and remain calm under pressure. My previous roles have enabled me to work individually, in a sole charge capacity, and also shared care with parents, whilst also working with a wider team in fully staffed households, and office environments.

My enthusiastic approach, along with my empathetic and intuitive nature, means Im able to quickly build a connection and sustain lasting relationships with many of the previous families and children I have cared for, and other colleagues also. I have the ability to 'fit in' in many scenarios, whether it be working with HNW clients, in an office, with children, or in the home or playground environment. I do however, prefer to work in a less formal, more relaxed environment.

Most recently, I have been working a 40 hr week, Monday to Thursday. I am looking to work perhaps either, 4 days 8-6/7-7, or even 5-7 days in a 24 hr/rota position, in a professional Nanny role. I would be happy to consider living in during the working week if your location is too far to commute on a daily basis, should you have accommodation available. Im also open and excited to hear about any other opportunities that you may have available.

My interests are floristry, photography, interior styling and organisation. If perhaps you run a business from home, and the children are at school, I would be more than happy to discuss broadening my work experience, learning additional skills, and working with you on that before the children are due home.

I am not looking for Nanny/Housekeeper roles at this time. That said, I will always carry out all Nursery Duties related to the children and help assist in the smooth running of the house, where/when possible, however childcare is my main duty and always my priority.

My salary is on the higher end of the scale due to my training and experience, but I do not believe you will be disappointed with the level of care I provide.

I am very much looking forward to finding my next wonderful family to work with. Thank you for reading.

Best Wishes!

Melissa (Nanny Lissa)
