About Me

I am a very enthusiastic, lively, fun person who will bring great motivation and energy to my work. I enjoy meeting new people, building relationships and challenging myself with new things. I work very well with others as well as by myself and am extremely organised and conscientious. I love to be busy at work and find that I thrive best when I’m under pressure.

In my spare time I greatly enjoy reading and try to read about 100 books a year. I also like baking and gardening, and I run my own little honesty stall outside my house where I sell many of my homemade and homegrown products. I love spending time out in nature while walking my little dog Melon and like to go wild swimming all throughout the year with my friends.

My Experience

I currently work as a part-time Librarian (9 years), and as a Forest School Leader (14 months).
In my role as Librarian I plan and run all of our children's events. These include storytimes, arts & crafts, scavenger hunts, reading challenges, parties, school visits, and author events. I love being able to talk to the children who visit about what they're reading, recommend new books for them, and enjoy time reading together.
I really enjoy that libraries act as a friendly and helpful community-hub, where everyone is welcome and can feel safe.

In my role as Forest School Leader, I am in charge of planning and running our outdoor Forest School for home-schooled children (aged 4-16). In this role I manage a small group of staff and volunteers who help me to run the sessions. I also plan each session myself, complete risk assessments for the site and activities, maintain ongoing communication with the attendees/parents, promote the sessions via social media, make posters, and lead the sessions.

I have also previously worked as a children's creative arts instructor at a residential camp in Canada, a playworker at a preschool, and a teaching assistant at a primary school.
I love working with children and being able to inspire them to learn and have fun. I enjoy working in roles where I am able to pass on my own skills and teach children new things in order to help them create things and learn new things.

My Qualifications

- BA (Hons) degree in Visual Arts
- Level 3 in Forest School Leadership
- A Levels in English Language & Literature, Fine Art, and Textiles.

I have also done many safeguarding and data protection courses through my Librarian job.
I have both a paediatric and outdoor first aid certificate, and have been DBS checked for my Forest School role.

My Availability

I am available all day on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Also potentially on weekends.

I work at the library on Mondays and Wednesdays, which I would prefer to keep doing if possible. But I might be willing to give this up for the right role and family.
