About Me
A compassionate, organised and responsible individual with previous experience as a Nanny. Additional experience includes multiple and varied child and young adult focussed roles in educational, private and statutory settings. Experience also with twins, and children and young people with SEN and additional needs. I have recently completed a Social Work BSc degree from the University of Hertfordshire and am trained in Safeguarding, First Aid and PEG feeding. I enjoy working with children and am therefore looking for a role as a live out nanny supporting a London family. However I am also open to babysitting locally. I have a full drivers license and access to my own vehicle but also live close to a train line so my commute from just outside of North London is easy and reliable. Additionally, I am flexible and can work around all schedules. I am creative, active and enjoy getting involved in all activities and having fun!
My Experience
I previously worked as a nanny for an Italian family in Milan. My role was to support the family with the three children (B3, G4, G4), keep the children safe and well looked after and expose the children to English through games, crafts and activities. My responsibilities included collecting the children from school, planning and actioning these activities, completing the bed time routine and making sure the children were engaged in learning but having fun.
Furthermore I have got a vast amount of experience in multiple child focussed roles. I worked for a a children's charity supporting children with special needs and their siblings. Each session, as an experienced play assistant, I was assigned one child to care for, support and keep safe. I was responsible for keeping the child entertained, meeting their needs, providing personal care, comforting them when they were distressed or upset and communicating with the parents. I have also worked as a personal assistant for a young man with a diagnosis of autism, had learning difficulties and was non verbal. I have also worked in both primary and secondary schools as teaching assistants supporting the class teacher and the students.
Whilst completing my BSc Social Work degree I completed two child focussed placements. My first 70 day placement was within a secondary school supporting the Year 8 students emotionally and educationally. My second 100 day placement was working in the Welwyn and Hatfield Assessment Team for Hertfordshire’s Children Services whose role was to investigate any concerns raised about a child’s/children’s health and wellbeing. My responsibilities included meeting with the child and family, communicating with other agencies, working in line with the law and policy, completing documents and writing assessments.
My Qualifications
- 2:1 BSc Social Work Degree.
- First Aid trained.
- PEG feeding trained.
- Foundation Diploma in Fine Art.
- Three A-Levels including A in Maths and Art and a C in Psychology.
- Eleven GCSE’s A*-C
