Hey, I'm Ella!
I have recently graduated from my Acting degree at Falmouth University, I have always had a passion for the arts and love introducing young people to the wonderful world of theatre, performance and visual arts.
I also have a love for the earth and nature and when I'm not planning acting lessons or working my muggle job you'll often find me wandering through the forest looking for squirrels or out on my paddleboard in the sea. I find that in our modernised world even just taking 2 minutes to sit out in the sun (or rain) and just breath in the air can help regulate our mental health and clear our minds. This philosophy that I hold dear also lends itself well to my style of gentle and kind care, always ensuring that your children feel safe, looked after and happy, is my main goal. But I also love to help teach young people about the wonderful world we live in, from the our beautiful beaches to building bug hotels in the garden!
I also am happy to help around the house if needed, I understand that in a busy house sometimes an extra pair of hands can really help!
I stayed in Cornwall after my degree as I fell in love with the community down here and it always felt like home, I am also planning on completing a teacher training course within the next few years as I love being able to nurture young people and help them grow.
My Experience
For the last 10 years I have been a volunteer assistant director at Dramatically Different, a youth drama group in Devon, I love working with the young people an helping them to develop their acting skills whilst also offering them a place where they can be themselves and enjoy their time out of school. This previous role has taught me so much about working with young people ranging from ages 3-18 so I am able to work with and build bonds with children of all ages.
I also have experience in safeguarding and understand basic child safety measures through working at this job and from volunteering at Ide Primary school occasionally since my work experience there in 2017.
Whilst I haven't ever babysat any children that were not direct relatives, I have been called on multiple times over the years to look after my 2 young cousins and my younger brother. This one on one babysitting has taught me the intricacies of caring for young people and has shown me the importance of building a bond with the young people so you can understand their signs and characters.
My Qualifications
Since receiving by Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Acting I have used the skills I learnt in a drama group setting. Mentoring young people and enabling them to develop their skills and guide them in both their acting work as well as creating a safe and welcoming space to tackle personal hardships and supporting them throughout these.
My Availability
Currently I have full availability, I am happy to work hours suitable for you around other work commitments once they pick up again to find a schedule that hopefully facilitates most days you may need help.
