About Me
I am a single mother based in the UK with the US military. I work as a nurse at the hospital on base. I have two wonderful kiddos and rotating shift work had been difficult to all the kids to fully remain with me. I would need someone who could take the kids to and from school, and then assist with dinners/bedtime routine, I have a small dog and a cat who are also stay with me.
My Requirements
We will have a week on week off schedule. The kids will be with me starting on Friday nights then will be with me until the following Friday when they go with their dad. This schedule starts January 2024.
I will require help with before/after school care, evenings, and alternating weekends.
I work 3-4 12-hour shifts a week (14 shifts a month) from 0600-1800. I leave for work approx 40 min prior to my shift as the base is around 28-30 min drive. I'm usually home around 1915.I do work some holidays and weekends with my schedule being released a month or two in advance. I often am scheduled to work 2-3 shifts in a row with 2-3 shifts off. I am also scheduled to be "on call" at least once a month.
-Day shift schedule on days that I work would follow this schedule-get them ready for school and drop them off; Free time during the day!! pick them up by 1700 and start dinner for the kids. I am often home by 1915. Sometimes I opt to pick up food or have delivery.
The kids need to be on base to be dropped off at the child development and youth center no later than 0710 and picked up by 1700. Having a car with ability to drive is a must!
On my days off I use that time to go to appointments, run errands, or attend any required military trainings. Weekends and holidays that I have off I spend with the kids at home. The military base has "family days" that often coincide with bank holidays that turn into 4-day weekends.
While kids are in school, there will be free time to run errands, do personal shopping, any hobbies or interests. Light housework would be helpful, but not necessary. I actively involve the kids. In fact, my son LOVES to clean; we play music and try to make it fun. A washer and dryer are provided within the house so no money is needed for laundry services. I often ask the kids to have a "laundry folding party" to assist me with the accumulation of clothes that tend to pile up. Our dog does NOT enjoy walks, but does like like run around in the garden. I have a scheduled gardener that comes every 3-4 weeks to mow and tidy up the garden.
Pocket money for extra personal shopping, clothing, foods, personal items, trips, etc..
