About Me
Hi, I am Alicia! I am a 20 (turning 21) university student and have been babysitting and childminding formally for several years now. I study BSc Psychology with Counselling Studies at the University of Brighton, and have been babysitting part time between my studies both when I am in Ipswich and in Brighton. I love children, I have grown up with 3 younger siblings and now I have a little niece and cousins that I often see and love to take care of too! I believe I’m a very naturally caring and meticulous person, I am sensitive towards both the child and the parents’ needs when I babysit/childmind, and understand the amount of trust that goes into this client relationship. I hope I can be of service to you :)
My Experience
I have been babysitting formally for three years now. Whilst I was in sixth form (St Joseph’s College, Ipswich), many of the mothers at the school’s nursery often required babysitting needs and it was convenient and easy for me to pick up their children and care for them after school. I have babysat over the weekends, and have done last minute/emergency babysitting too, as I am flexible and can drive quickly to wherever I am needed. Informally, I have been looking after my three younger siblings and my niece since I was a teenager.
I treat every baby and child with respect and understand that many children have difficulty navigating the world and their surroundings - hence, I always uphold patience, kindness, empathy, and clear, gentle explanations, no matter the situation.
I enjoy playing games (whether that is with toys, or on gaming consoles, or going to the park) and do enjoy letting out my inner child (responsibly) when I am playing with little ones, and I find that many of the children I have babysat enjoy this compared to an unengaged sitter.
My Qualifications
I have a DBS check and a UK passport and UK driver’s license to match. I am currently a University Student. As much as I would love to, I have no formal childcare qualifications because I want to become a child therapist in the future, but I do have many years of experience in handling children of all ages and personalities (from 6 months to 14 years). I also have a car, so I can easily drive to where I am needed at any time of day.
My Availability
I am available over winter in Ipswich all day everyday aside from December 25th (christmas day) and December 29th (my 21st birthday)

- Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
No fees in particular, but perhaps if it is quite the drive out for me maybe an extra tip for the travel would be nice :)
