Barry

About Me

My name is Barry and I grew up in Australia before moving to England in 2013.

I am a graduate of Queensland University of Technology where I studied Education, specialising in physical education and history. I am a trained teacher with over 10 years of experience in education. On top of working in education, I was lucky enough to also spend a number of years in France playing professional rugby, a real dream of mine.

I have taught at a number of schools around the world. In these schools I have taught Physical Education, History and as a General Class Teacher. I currently am a Head of Sport at a top London Prep School.

I enjoy all types of teaching and have taught all ages, in all types of environments. I have extensive knowledge of the prep school system in London and the next school process. On top of my experience within schools, I am also the founder and director of Explore London Holiday Club and Explore Education.

As outlined in my CV, I started these companies with the idea of providing more children in London with the opportunity to access a greater educational experience through both tutoring and co-curricular adventures. This is a real passion of mine and something I have loved being involved with. Aside from the experience outlined above, I also am a trained Swimschool teacher and have coaching certificates in over 8 different sports, as well as an extensive tutoring background.

I originally got into Governing through a friend recommendation . I have since worked with this family over the past 7 years through which I have gained great governing experience including extensive travelling. I believe this role has helped shape me as a professional and broadened my outlook on children’s education.

I am a professional, trustworthy, outgoing and sporty person who adjust well to any setting with ease. These qualities I believe, make me to be a great candidate when it comes to fitting in with a family.
