About Me
I have been babysitting and nannying (on weekends and during school holidays) for a lot of families in Southfields, Wimbledon and Earlsfield since I moved to this country almost 8 years ago; therefore, I have a lot of experience looking after children of different ages. I'm bilingual, my native language is Spanish and I usually share my cultural background with the families I work for, through storytelling, music and food. I also am very helpful and participate actively in school duties, providing help with homework and school projects; this is very familiar to me since I have also tutored (mainly Mathematics, Spanish and French) primary school children when I was in sixth form.
My Experience
Experience with:
0–10 year olds
During summer time I looked after two girls, one in reception and the other one in Year 4, 3-4 days a week. Nowadays, I babysit regularly, babies and kids between the age of 1 and 9 years old. When nannying I was in charge of taking children to outdoor activities (parks, playgrounds) and to visit museums and playgroups, I also arranged crafts and baking activities at home for when the weather wasn't nice. As a Peruvian I enjoy cooking so I prepared lunch and dinner for them too. When babysitting, I normally am in charge of bath time and story before bed, depending on what time the families need me.
My Qualifications
I'm Peruvian and moved to London in 2016. Completed my GCSE's a year later and A-levels, to then study midwifery at University of Greenwich. Furthermore, studying a health course where newborns are involved has also given me a lot of confidence and skills needed in childcare. I constantly trained when practising as a student midwife in Lewisham hospital e.g. First Aid (newborns, infants, and adults) & Safeguarding, so I have learnt to handle emergency situations adequately, staying calm and acting fast. These skills provide the reassurance that parents usually need.
