About Me
I am a highly successful and professional educator with seven years of teaching experience. I specialise in teaching ESL (English as a foreign language) and English literature for students in primary and secondary school. I have purposefully created opportunities to broaden my experience by teaching different age groups and subjects to deepen my knowledge and sharpen my skills which has been a very effective method for me. My students comment on my warmth, passion, committment, creativity and dilligence with regards to teaching. I absolutely love what I do and take great pride in guiding my students on their individual learning journey.
I was born and raised in Kingsbury, NW London and have spent the last few years living abroad. I return to London in April 2024 which is very exciting! When I'm not teaching, I am also a professional DJ. I love reading, practising yoga and mindfulness.
My Experience
In my 7 years of teaching, I have diversified my skills by working in three different positions. I have taught ESL in a secondary school to students in year 7 - year 11. I spent four years teaching English literature, Art History, Social Studies and Geography in a Montessori style primary school where I taught students from kindergarten to year 6. I also have a wealth of private, online ESL tutoring experience where I work with adults and children. I am a highly rated tutor with nothing but 5* reviews. My diverse experience means I am highly adaptable and able to teach a number of subjects to students of any age and language level. My specialities are ESL and English literature.
My Qualifications
I have BA degree from the University of Leiester in History of Art and a CELTA (Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults).
My Availability
From mid April 2024 I will return to my home in North West London and will be available for in person classes. Until then, I am looking for virtual, tutoring positions. I am currently based in Thailand (GMT + 7). I am available on weekends and at various times during the week.
