My Summary

My Experience

For the past 4 years, I have been working with children between the ages of 0 - 10 years, I have an enhanced DBS check and qualifications. ABA trained.

During my primary school teaching experience, I worked with children aged 3 - 10 years. I learnt key transferable skills, such as how to communicate with children at their differing levels of understanding, both verbal and non – verbal. This experience was particularly with children of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including ADHD, ASD, global delay, visual impairments, hearing impairments, Myasthenia gravi, speech delay, etc Initially, being part of the SEN group learning room, I carried out vital day to day interventions, with afternoon 1:1 sessions, tracking children’s progress, and working alongside other SEN specialists.

With my ability to speak a second language, I often spoke to newly transitioning children in their home language in order to help them learn English at the pace of their own stages of development. This allowed me to gain patience, empathy, and compassion for children, thus allowing me to develop a meaningful relationship with them from a place of mutual respect. I thoroughly enjoyed working with this energetic age group, quickly learning when to use my initiative and the significance of active listening, especially in a childcare setting.

Throughout my days in nursery (which were with children between the ages of 0 – 5 years), I took care of children as I referred to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS, 2021), whilst also planning and teaching the children. This was to help them meet learning and developmental milestones, as listed by the EYFS. In all my childcare experiences, I had the role of building strong relationships with children and staff. I strive to provide the best care and support for everyone while ensuring safeguarding procedures are adhered to in order to maintain a safe environment for children.

I have experienced a fair amount of challenges that I have always overcome. I am enthusiastic and confident in my childcare experience.

I am currently employed as a private tutor specialising in working with children with special needs (primary school subject based teaching included). My focus is on assisting them in developing their language and communication skills, as well as their social skills, to help them reach their full potential, at home, and in school/nursery settings.

Whilst collaborating with parents, I personalise my teaching approach and lesson plans to each and every child as all learning needs are different for everyone.

My Qualifications

NCFE CACHE LEVEL 3 in childcare and education, diploma and certificate. Upto date safeguarding trained and DBS checked.
