My Summary
About Me
Hello!
I am an experienced nanny who is looking to work Tuesdays and Fridays specifically.
I am a bubbly individual with a good sense of humour and plenty of energy. I have roughly 5 and a half years of experience in childcare on different levels; 3 years of working within a boys’ boarding house (ages 13 - 18 years), a year and a half working as a live-in nanny/housekeeper for a lovely family in Battersea, London, with their two young boys (ages 3 and 5), 1 year with a lovely family near Royston (1 year old), and 1 year’s worth of experience working in a nursery in all rooms (ages 8 months - 4 years). My time at the nursery also trained me in working with SEN children, both as infants, toddlers and preschoolers. I am currently working Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays with a lovely family in Ely and their young boy (1 year old).
I have been greatly loved by the children I have worked with, as they have resonated with my bouncy personality while working with them. I plan indoor and outdoor activities (messy and non-messy!), playdates, birthday parties and participate in school trips. I cook, bake and clean, can perform minor repairs to various household damages, and I am very organised and orderly. Coworkers and adults I’ve worked with have found me to be a very comforting source of support, being very reliable and efficient. Outside of working with the children, I am a cheerful but calm individual, happy to discuss just about any matter to do with my work or otherwise. I have my own vehicle with a clean driving licence, and am happy to use it for work purposes.
My Experience
I have worked as a housekeeping operative at a local boarding school in my hometown. My duties included cleaning and tidying of classrooms and facilities in the early mornings, and the
boarding houses in the late mornings to early afternoon. This included hoovering, dusting,
sanitising, tidying, small household repairs, and general care of classrooms, bedrooms and
bathrooms. I was placed in a boys’ dorm with ages 13-18, and had a friendly and positive working relationship with the students whenever I saw them between lessons. As I was stationed here during the pandemic, my team and I became a regular comfort to the children who were unable to return home abroad during the holidays, and we all grew closer from it.
I have worked as a live-in nanny-housekeeper in Battersea, London for a year and a half, caring for their two young boys, both of which I formed a very close bond with. I cooked for and dressed the children, took them to and from school and holiday camps, as well as fun outings around London both with and without their family members. I would also do the children’s bedtime routines, including bath time, teeth brushing, stories and bed. I worked as a housekeeper during school hours, doing cleaning, laundry, small household repairs and appointment arranging such as plumbing and house maintenance. I would often run errands for my employers outside of the home as well, such as seeing to their dry cleaning and shopping, and assisted in arranging events and parties by placing orders for supplies, decorating and cooking. I travelled with the family when necessary, including abroad.
I have worked at a nursery on an apprentice level for a full year. My responsibilities included the supervision and care of children ranging from ages of 8 months to 4 years old, as well as children with learning or behavioural difficulties. This includes serving food, producing stimulating activities for both indoor and outdoor play, group activities such as reading, singing and games, and encouraging personal development in the children. I have training with infants and babies, including changing, bottle feeding and weaning. I have also had training and on-the-job experience in working with SEN children of various needs, including ADHD and autism, both verbal and non-verbal. I provided comfort and support for all age groups we care for, and was successful in bonding strongly and positively with them. Due to unfortunate circumstances, I was unable to take my final assessment, but have a year’s worth of work to show for my effort. My references from Small Wonders Day Nursery can also confirm that I have indeed put in the time and effort to my apprenticeship.
I worked for a small family near Royston, taking care of their 1 year old boy once his mother had come off maternity leave. I bonded with the baby very quickly, and was instrumental in his development. This included teaching him to walk, helping him develop his hand-eye coordination, speech development, colour and animal recognition, and much more.
I currently work three days a week with a lovely family near Ely, and their 1 year old boy. I work with them Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays, and would be interested in work on Mondays and Fridays to fill in the gaps.
