My Experience

As a primary teacher, I have extensive experience supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing across a range of age groups. My practice is grounded in play-based pedagogy, particularly within Early Years, where I use purposeful play to support social, emotional, and cognitive development.

I place a strong emphasis on developing children’s metacognitive skills, encouraging them to think about their thinking, build independence, and develop confidence as learners. Through carefully planned activities and responsive interactions, I aim to create a nurturing, engaging, and stimulating environment tailored to each child’s needs and interests.

Alongside my professional training and classroom experience, I have a genuine passion for working with children and supporting their growth both academically and personally. I am available for babysitting on weekday evenings and weekends, whether for regular childcare or occasional support.

My Qualifications

Comprehensive Child Development Knowledge
As a probationer primary teacher, I have a strong understanding of child development across Early Years and Primary stages. My training enables me to recognise and support children’s emotional, social, and cognitive development, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and supported within a nurturing environment.

Play-Based and Child-Centred Practice
My teaching practice is grounded in play pedagogy, particularly within Early Years. I use purposeful, engaging play to support learning, creativity, communication, and social skills, tailoring activities to suit each child’s interests and developmental stage.

Supporting Metacognitive Skills
I place a strong emphasis on developing children’s metacognitive skills by encouraging them to reflect on their thinking, build independence, and develop confidence as learners. Through thoughtful questioning and age-appropriate activities, I help children become more aware of how they learn.

First Aid and Child Safety
Your child’s safety and wellbeing are my top priority. I have first aid training and am confident in responding calmly and effectively to minor injuries or emergency situations.

Educational and Engaging Activities
With my background in primary education, I can provide fun, structured, and educational activities during babysitting sessions. I am happy to support with homework, reinforce learning through play, and bring along appropriate resources at no additional cost.

My Availability

During term time, I am available on weekends and some weekday evenings. During school holidays, I have much greater availability and am free most of the time, though I do appreciate bookings being made in advance where possible. I am currently looking for babysitting work during the upcoming Easter holidays.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £13.00 per hour

My fees depend on each child and needs of the parent
