Tess
Nanny in Hemel Hempstead
My Summary
"Exceptional", Attentive, Caring Nanny
About Me
Hello, I'm Tess, a professional Private Nanny with a versatile background across private nannying, teaching, tutoring and sports coaching roles. I love working with children and am empathetic and sensitive to the emotional wellbeing of children as much as the physical safekeeping. I am often described as having a calm presence, as well as presenting as "grounded, quietly confident, very well-spoken and attentive".
I love to support children's learning and development and have experience of homeschooling. I have hands-on Nanny experience with children with SEND support needs such as Autism, ADHD, Down's Syndrome, developmental delays, and those who are finding aspects of daily functioning challenging but don't yet have a formal diagnosis to access the next level of support at school/nursery. I have completed a range of further training in SEND and currently studying for my Level 2 Understanding Autism.
More info about me below but please be in touch if you have further questions! :)
My Experience
"I used Tess and the ASAP Nanny service for a few weeks when our family nanny had to take unexpected leave due to illness. I cannot recommend Tess and her services highly enough.
Tess stepped in at short notice and adapted incredibly quickly to my three children. She instantly created a warm and trusting bond with them, showing a natural ability to connect, engage, and support their individual needs.
The children are already asking when she’ll be back, and I know we’d welcome her return in a heartbeat should we need support again." - Private Family in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire

As full-time working parents of two young children, including a four-year-old son currently going through the ADHD diagnostic process, our family has been navigating a very overwhelming season. When my son moved to a reduced school schedule, we needed support quickly, and finding her was nothing short of a godsend.
From the very beginning, Tessa has brought a rare combination of warmth, professionalism and deep intuitive understanding. She has been an emotional anchor for my son: endlessly kind, patient and compassionate, with a natural ability to support and manage the classic characteristics of neurodivergence. He feels safe with her, understood by her, and genuinely enjoys his time with her. We are confident he is safe, well cared for and supported. As parents, that means everything.
Practically speaking, as a nanny, Tessa is exceptional. She is creative, punctual and dependable. She seamlessly incorporates his homework (letter and sound work primarily) into everyday activities, making learning feel natural and engaging rather than forced. She also thoughtfully follows clinical and professional guidance around behavioural strategies, always with consistency and care. Between our work at home, his work with clinicians and Tessa's work during the afternoons, I can definitely see improvement and a happier boy. I also appreciate how she would interrogate staff at pick up to ensure we had a full picture of his day.
In a period of life that has felt heavy and complex, her presence has brought calm, stability and trust into our home. I cannot overstate how valuable her work has been—not just as a nanny, but as a true support to our family.
Any family would be incredibly lucky to work with her and we will miss her very much when her next family finds her. Thank you!
