About Me
Ying’s Mandarin Bilingual Montessori
A warm, nurturing home-based Montessori setting with a unique Mandarin immersion environment.
I have successfully completed my Ofsted visit and am currently waiting for my registration certificate to be issued. Government funding is not yet available at this stage.
At Ying’s Mandarin Bilingual Montessori, children are naturally surrounded by spoken Mandarin through everyday activities, play, songs, stories and conversations. Even children with no previous exposure to Chinese can gradually begin to understand and respond naturally over time. Many children can develop strong listening comprehension within 6–12 months in an immersive environment.
I also speak English fluently, helping children feel safe, understood and gently supported as they settle in.
My approach combines:
* Montessori-inspired learning
* Language immersion
* Calm and respectful care
* Real-world experiences
* Small group connection and individual attention
I believe young children learn best through meaningful daily life rather than constant structured activities. Although I have outdoor garden space, I especially enjoy taking children out into the community — visiting parks, libraries, nature spaces and local activities where they can explore the world with curiosity and confidence.
This setting is ideal for families who value:
* Mandarin& English bilingual exposure from an early age
* gentle and respectful childcare
* independence and confidence-building
* calm environments
* meaningful learning through real experiences
My hope is to offer children not only childcare, but a peaceful little world where language, culture and childhood can naturally grow together.
My Experience
I have over five years of experience working in Montessori environments in China, where I supported children aged 2–6 in their development using the AMI approach. My work focused on fostering independence, concentration, and a love of learning through hands-on activities and a calm, respectful atmosphere.
Since moving to the UK, I have been working as a Teaching Assistant from agnecies in both nursery and primary school settings, gaining experience in supporting children across a range of ages and needs.
As a qualified Montessori teacher, I carefully observe each child, including those with additional needs. In my prepared environment, I often see children stay deeply focused and engaged. I transform abstract or difficult maths concepts into hands-on, concrete activities that children can physically manipulate and explore.
Through this approach, children have shown remarkable progress in both maths and geography. Learning becomes meaningful, enjoyable and accessible, and they build confidence as they discover concepts through experience rather than memorization.
Alongside this, I also teach Mandarin to children and adults, both online and face-to-face. My lessons are interactive and tailored to each learner’s level, with a focus on real-life communication.
