About Me

Private Tutor with over 13 years teaching experience, specialising in supporting pupils with SEND!

I can provide high quality face to face or online tutoring in a range of subjects to suit all needs and abilities. I primarily work with children aged between 5 and 11 years (school academic years 1-6).

My passion and area of expertise is Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Having worked as a Primary School SENCO for almost 10 years, as well as having a neurodiverse daughter - I have a wealth of experience in this field.

I can also make referrals to neurodevelopment pathways at Alder Hey (ASD/ADHD) and have a remarkably high success rate when applying for Educational, Healthcare Plans (EHCPs).

I offer tutoring in a wide range of specific subject areas and often deliver sessions which include more than one focus at a time.
Sessions are typically one – two hours long.

# Writing

*If your child is currently under SALT and has specific targets and strategies that have been recommended by a Speech Therapist, I can work and build on these.

# Dyslexia Support

Trained to deliver Precision Teaching.

# Executive Functioning and Working Memory
Attention and concentration, task initiation and completion, emotional self-regulation, problem -solving, improved academic progress.

# Fine and Gross Motor Skills
Improve pencil control and handwriting.
Develop physical skills and implement OT strategies and recommendations.

# Sensory Processing and Sensory Circuits
I incorporate regular sensory breaks into sessions if needed (I am skilled in recognising when children are ‘seeking sensory input’ and will pause and adapt the session accordingly implementing relevant sensory activities, depending on their individual needs).
I can also design and set up a sensory circuit that can be used in the home environment and teach the child about their own sensory regulation - how to recognise their own sensory seeking behaviours.

# Social Communication Skills
Trained in delivering Lego Therapy and Socially Speaking interventions.

# Emotional Literacy Skills
Trained in Zones of Regulation and can support children to recognise their own emotions and develop strategies to help them self-regulate.

I specialise in teaching children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, particularly neurodivergent children (Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia and Dyscalculia, etc).

I offer a very personalised learning approach and will carry out initial assessments to determine specific targets and objectives to focus on. I will track and share your child’s progress regularly and can liaise with your child’s school setting/class teacher if necessary. I aim to make sessions as engaging and enjoyable as possible using a variety of teaching methods and strategies.

The students I tutor are highly motivated and engaged as a result of my teaching style and techniques. I personalise the structure and pace for each child and can focus on developing several skills and objectives (using a variety of different tasks/activities) in just one session!

In addition to this, I also offer training, advice, and guidance for parents/carers on a wide range of topics, including:
~ Understanding Autism
~ Understanding ADHD
~ PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance)
~ Understanding Dyslexia
~ Strategies to support all of the above
~ Strategies to support behaviour
~ Overview of Zones of Regulation
~ Understanding your child’s sensory needs

My daughter has come on leaps and bounds, grown in confidence so much and has made excellent progress, since working with Natalie. She is very calm, patient and makes learning fun! Would highly recommend!
