About Me
I am an experienced teacher, with a PGCE in Primary Education. I have resigned my position at a local prep school to begin a new chapter supporting children and their families in a Nanny/ Housekeeper capacity. I have a reputation amongst families for working tirelessly to help their children be the best that they can be. I am adept at understanding each child and knowing how to address any barriers to learning and how to provide stretch and challenge. I am highly organised, keep a very clean and tidy household, possess a high standard of both spoken and written English and have strong IT skills. My Experience
I have specialised in teaching children aged 3 - 7 years in mainstream and independent school settings, including teaching children with a range of special needs. I have provided 1:1 tuition to children aged 5 - 10 years. I have particular strengths in teaching literacy and mastery of mathematics. I am trained in behaviour management and wellbeing, including techniques in self-regulation. I raised my two sons as a fulltime mother from birth to 10 and 7 years respectively; and now aged 19 and 16, they have been educated at two of the country's leading academically-selective schools. I am degree-educated (2:1 in International Business Management) with a background in brand management. I worked abroad as an au-pair for a year between school and university. I speak fluent German and have studied French at A' Level and Italian at GCSE. I have substantial experience of preparing healthy meals (including those that cater for people with special dietary requirements). I am trained in Safeguarding Children (DBS checked), paediatric First Aid and hold a Food Hygiene certificate. I teach children to play chess, dance and swim, with lifeguard training.
