My Experience

My previous roles as a private tutor and teaching assistant have significantly prepared me for this next relevant role by equipping me with essential skills and experiences. Being a tutor for a few years now has given me the correct understanding and taught me how to assess students' strengths and weaknesses effectively, allowing me to provide targeted support that maximized their potential. I also honed my communication skills, learning to explain complex concepts in a clear and relatable manner, which is crucial for fostering understanding and engagement.

In my role as a teaching assistant, I gained hands-on experience in a classroom setting, working closely with teachers to support lesson delivery and student learning. This position enhanced my ability to manage classroom dynamics and collaborate with educators to create an inclusive learning environment including working closely with diverse learners amongst my roles which has taught me to recognize and adapt to individual needs, which is crucial for SEN students who often require tailored approaches.I learned the importance of patience and adaptability, as each student has unique challenges and learning paces.

In my 1-1 tutoring role, I focused on creating personalized lesson plans that accommodated various learning styles and implement strategies that promote inclusivity and support, such as using visual aids, hands-on activities, and breaking tasks into manageable steps ensuring that each child could engage with the material in a way that suited them best. This not only helps in maintaining their attention but also boosts their confidence as they achieve small successes.

Additionally, my ability to communicate effectively with both students and parents has been strengthened, allowing me to advocate for SEN children and collaborate with families to reinforce learning at home. Overall, these experiences have equipped me with the skills and empathy needed to create a nurturing and effective learning environment for SEN children, helping them reach their full potential.

Through these roles I have become more confident in managing resources and assisting in planning activities. These experiences have instilled in me a deep understanding of educational practices and the importance of nurturing students’ confidence and motivation. As I transition into this next role, I feel well-prepared to apply these skills, ensuring that I can contribute effectively to the learning environment and support students in achieving their academic goals.

My Qualifications

Gained 4 A-Levels, Currently studying a Degree in Early Childhood Education. Obtained Level 3 in Teaching and Learning and Health and Social Care. I also have a valid First aid qualification and safeguarding qualifications as well as a full enhanced DBS.
