My Experience
I’ve grown up in a large family and have always been surrounded by children, which sparked my passion for caregiving from a young age. Over the years, I’ve gained hands-on experience as a babysitter, looking after children aged 1 to 11. I’ve also completed work experience in a primary school, where I supported children with classroom work, including providing one-on-one academic support in spelling, reading, and mathematics. This involved working closely with children with special educational needs, including Autism and ADHD, giving me the confidence and skills to adapt support strategies to meet individual needs.
In addition, I’ve volunteered as a Girlguiding leader, organising and supervising day trips to parks, museums, and forest schools—activities I thoroughly enjoy and would be more than comfortable incorporating into babysitting routines.
My experience as an HR Coordinator has equipped me with a range of transferable skills that are highly relevant to childcare. In this role, I was responsible for effective communication, problem-solving, multitasking, and handling sensitive situations with care and professionalism—all of which are essential when working with children and families. I developed strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and responsive under pressure. These qualities help me create a safe, structured, and supportive environment for the children I care for, while also ensuring clear and open communication with parents.
My approach to childcare is grounded in empathy, patience, and encouragement. I am committed to supporting children's development both emotionally and academically, and I am confident in assisting with homework and fostering a love of learning through play and tailored activities.
Currently, I’m also studying British Sign Language (Introductory Level) to broaden my ability to support diverse learners and reinforce my commitment to inclusive education.
