My Summary
About Me
As someone who is genuinely passionate about working with children, I aim to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where little ones can feel happy, confident, and supported. I believe in learning through play, encouraging creativity, and building strong, trusting relationships with both children and parents. While I maintain a professional and responsible approach, I bring a fun and energetic personality to every session — whether it’s through messy play, storytelling, singing, or outdoor adventures. My goal is always to make each child feel valued, supported, and excited to learn and grow.
My Experience
I have hands-on experience working with children from babies through to age 14, having worked in three nurseries where I supported a range of developmental stages and individual needs. I’ve also volunteered with youth groups and have been a dedicated Brownies leader, helping plan and deliver fun, structured activities each week. In addition to formal settings, I’ve provided babysitting for local families, giving me valuable one-to-one experience in home environments. Across all of these roles, I’ve developed strong skills in communication, behaviour management, and creating playful, child-led experiences that encourage learning and independence.
My Qualifications
I hold a Grade A in my HNC in Childhood Practice and will be starting my degree in Primary Education with a Specialism in Early Years at the University of Stirling this September. I have achieved four Highers, including English, and I also hold my National 5 Maths qualification. I am fully first aid trained, have a full UK driving licence, and my own car — allowing for flexible and reliable travel. My combination of strong academic background and practical experience across nurseries, youth groups, and home settings has equipped me with the knowledge, confidence, and passion to provide high-quality care and support to children.
My Availability
I am currently waiting to receive my university timetable, which will be confirmed closer to the start of term. However, based on my anticipated schedule, I am aiming to be available for work on Monday and Friday afternoons, all day on Wednesdays, and a few weekends each month. I will confirm my exact availability as soon as my timetable is finalised, but I am keen to fit work around my studies in a consistent and reliable way.
