About Me

am a passionate and dedicated early years practitioner with a blend of academic knowledge and real-life experience that makes me well-suited for a position in your nursery. With over four years’ experience working as both a nanny and a nursery assistant, I have developed a strong, practical understanding of child development and how to support children from birth through to the end of primary school. As a nanny, I have worked closely with families to provide consistent, one-to-one care, supporting everything from newborn routines, weaning and sleep patterns, to emotional development, school readiness, and structured learning through play. This role taught me to be responsive, adaptable, and intuitive—quickly recognising individual needs and tailoring my approach to suit each child’s temperament, stage of development and daily rhythms.

Academically, I hold a BA (Hons) in Music from Bath Spa University, where I placed a strong focus on how music can support learning, communication, and creativity in early childhood. I built on this foundation with a PGCE in Primary Education, specialising in Early Years (3–7), which deepened my understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. I have a thorough knowledge of the Development Matters guidance and how to use it effectively to support observation, assessment, and planning in a way that is meaningful and child-led. I’m confident in providing a language-rich environment, promoting the Characteristics of Effective Learning, and planning open-ended, purposeful play opportunities that support all seven areas of learning. I understand the importance of early relationships, routines, and secure attachments in enabling young children to feel safe, settle well and flourish.

Importantly, I have previously worked at your nursery during my university holidays, which gave me direct insight into your setting’s routines, values and expectations. I enjoyed building warm relationships with staff and children during this time and would love the opportunity to return to a familiar and supportive environment where I can continue growing professionally. My prior experience in your setting also means I could step confidently into the role and contribute to the team from day one.

I am a calm, creative and consistent practitioner with a genuine passion for supporting young children’s development. Whether singing with toddlers, encouraging a baby’s first steps, or supporting early literacy with older children, I bring enthusiasm, professionalism and care to everything I do. I am deeply committed to providing inclusive, nurturing experiences where every child feels seen, supported and able to thrive.
