About Me
Hi, I'm Anwen, and I'm looking to tutor or be a home school helper for kids either preparing for the 11+ or younger. I enjoy making other people excited or interested in maths/science, and I will prepare extensively for each tutoring session, like I did for similar experiences.
In the initial session, I will assess the child's prowess in a certain area before finding the key areas to tackle on and improve, through a combination of lessons disguised as fun games, tackling hard problems, and weekly homework assignments that I will set.
Though it feels strange to describe myself in the third person, I am a rather patient and gentle person who is a good listener, and will work especially well with shyer and more quiet children, having understood the dilemmas of being a shy person myself and so I know how to help them to engage.
My Experience
I've run several lunch-time and after-school clubs, and have had quite a fair bit of experience teaching/mentoring younger kids and organising weekly topics (typically STEM related). I enjoy teaching/mentoring younger kids, as I enjoy seeing their progress.
My Qualifications
I attended St Paul's Girls' School, and have therefore undergone the 11+ exams and interviews, alongside with offers from all secondary schools including: Latymer Upper, Godolphin and Latymer, academic scholarships from both Putney High School and Lady Eleanor Holles (LEH), and Tiffin Girls' School.
I was then in the top set for Maths and Further Maths, in which I achieved a 9 or A* in. I achieved a grade of 9 or an A* for 10/12 of my GCSEs.
I have now finished my A-Levels of Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry and am awaiting results.
I am also an Arkwright Engineering Scholar, and so I have undergone yet another test and interview selection process.
My Availability
I'm available to tutor/be a home school helper at almost any time, except overnight.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £12.00 per hour
- Tutoring from £15.00 per hour
£15 an hour is assuming I am tutoring virtually, and given the time needed to prepare the subject matters beforehand, £15 an hour is a fair price, although I am willing to negotiate for lower if there is a good reason.
If I am working in person, the rates need to cover travel time, and costs and will be at least £20+ an hour, depending on how far I need to travel.
