My Experience

I am trained to deliver and have experience of teaching a broad spectrum of learning styles, including neurodivergent learners (ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Autism). I have taught Dyslexic and Dyscalculic learners for over ten years in my previous role in a specialist Dyslexia school and am qualified to teach Dyslexic learners across KS3. 
I am able to adapt my teaching style to meet the interests and needs of a wide range of learners, including the very able. I am passionate about helping children to make progress and enjoy learning. My specialism is literacy teaching; I have many years of proven success at improving literacy and language skills in young learners. I believe strongly in developing student’s confidence and self-esteem; developing a growth mindset to ensure students can reach their full potential.   
I observe closely how the learner responds to the subject being taught and the style of teaching. I track progress and evaluate the effectiveness of differing approaches for different learners. I use a wide range of resources to help bring the leaning to life, build enjoyment and a sense of achievement.
