About Me
Welcome to Sweet Beginnings Childcare

At Sweet Beginnings Childcare in the heart of Billingshurst, children flourish in a nurturing, inspiring, and homely environment that supports emotional, social, and academic growth. As parents ourselves, we know how important trust and connection are. We treat every child as if they were our own — with love, laughter, and learning at the heart of everything we do.
Meet Brian & Shelley
We’re Brian and Shelley, a passionate husband and wife team providing exceptional care and educational opportunities for little ones.
Shelley is a devoted and experienced mum whose journey in childcare began over a decade ago in nursery settings, where she supported children of all ages across a wide range of developmental stages. Her natural ability to connect with little ones — combined with her calm, nurturing presence — quickly made her a trusted figure among families and colleagues alike.
In 2019, Shelley followed her passion and became a registered childminder, creating a warm, structured, and inspiring environment where children feel safe, seen, and celebrated. Her approach blends gentle guidance with playful curiosity, helping children build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
Shelley’s deep understanding of early years development, paired with her intuitive care and creativity, ensures that every child receives thoughtful, personalised support. She’s known for her ability to spot the little things — a quiet worry, a budding interest, a moment of joy — and respond with empathy and encouragement.
Brian brings a unique blend of nurturing care and professional precision to childcare. His transition from accounting to childminding was driven by a deep passion for early years development and a desire to make a lasting difference in children’s lives. His calm, playful nature and thoughtful approach to learning make him a favourite among children and a trusted partner to parents. He is now an Ofsted-registered childminder himself — combining care, creativity, and professionalism in partnership with Shelley.
Together, we offer a rich blend of personal parenting insight and professional childcare expertise. Our shared values — warmth, trust, creativity, and emotional intelligence — shape every part of our practice, ensuring your child receives exceptional support every step of the way.
Both of us are fully qualified in Early Years Childcare, Paediatric First Aid, and Safeguarding, and hold enhanced DBS certificates. We’re proud to offer a warm, secure environment where your child is in safe, loving hands.
