About Me
My name is Rachel Emms and I am a registered childminder.
I am based in Woodley but I love being outside and going out and about. There are lots of parks to choose from which are just a short walk from our house, including my favourite Ashenbury Park where there are woods to explore, ducks to feed, space to explore and roll down hills as well as a couple of playgrounds to choose from.
I find it amazing how children grow and develop into such different little people. I enjoy helping children to be creative in many different ways as they find their talents and learn to express themselves. I have a lot of varied toys and books to encourage different types of play and love playing in my garden with them! I regularly meet with another local childminder to offer more opportunity for social development.
I like to offer a friendly, caring home that works with parents to continue the care they provide.
My Experience
I have always loved little children and started volunteering in creches at holiday clubs and church as soon as I could. Later I started babysitting for friends and regularly looked after lots of children.
I have three of my own children who are at primary and secondary school. They are all very different from each other in personalities and preferences. I find it amazing being their mum!
Shortly after my first child was born I started registering as a childminder, however I ended up nannying for twins instead which was a wonderful experience. My daughter who is now at secondary school still considers them to be among her best friends. I have since looked after a lot of children and have many longstanding friendships with them and their families.
My Qualifications
I am Ofsted registered and have attended the childminding registration course and safeguarding children training. I am also a fully qualified paediatric first aider and have a food hygiene certificate.
