About Me
Hi! I'm Grace! I'm 18 years old and currently studying for my 'A'-Levels at local grammar school in north Belfast! Next year, I'm going to study Children's and Young People's nursing at QUB. I have lots of babysitting experience, mostly with my younger cousins, and family friends. I’ve looked after children of all different ages, from toddlers to school-aged kids, and I feel really comfortable with everything from playtime and meal prep to bedtime routines and homework help. I’ve also helped out during busy weekends, school holidays, and even last-minute evening babysitting, so I’m reliable and flexible when needed.
I’m a caring, calm, and responsible person. I always try to create a safe, fun, and positive environment for the kids I look after. Whether it’s playing games, reading stories, or just being someone they can talk to, I do my best to connect with them and make them feel comfortable.
My Experience
Alongside babysitting, I’ve taken part in some amazing volunteering experiences. I travelled to India with Saphara to work with children who can’t afford to go to school — helping out in classrooms, reading with them, and supporting teachers with fun learning activities. It really opened my eyes and made me even more passionate about caring for children, especially those who need a bit of extra support.
At school, I’ve been a SENCO Prefect, working closely with children who have special educational needs, helping them with learning tasks, social skills, and just being a friendly face they can trust. I’ve also volunteered at local sports clubs, helping to coach and support younger children in team games — which has taught me a lot about patience, encouragement, and keeping kids engaged in a group setting.
I’ve also helped out with various school events and summer clubs, and I’ve taken part in basic first aid training as a St John Ambulance cadet, including CPR. These experiences have really helped me grow in confidence, responsibility, and care.
I genuinely love working with children — whether that’s helping them learn, keeping them entertained, or just being someone they can feel safe around. I’m responsible, calm, and caring, and I would love the chance to support a family and gain even more experience before going on to study nursing after school.
