Hello!
I'm from Plockton and just came back from University.
My goal is to offer every child a supportive environment and encourage them to learn and to find their passions.
My Experience
Before completing my studies, I worked as a Pupil Support Assistant at Plockton High School, where I supported young people with additional learning needs. I provided one-to-one tutoring, adapted lesson plans to meet individual needs, offered homework support, helped maintain motivation in class, and assisted with exams. This experience strengthened my commitment to ensuring that every child feels heard, safe, and encouraged to achieve their personal goals. At university, I also created a student-led project to raise awareness about effective study strategies, as I believe that teaching how to learn is just as important as teaching the subject itself, since good study habits contribute to a child’s confidence and well-being.
I have also volunteered at Fás Mòr, a Gaelic-medium childcare facility, and assisted with community-based projects for primary school children, supporting their learning and confidence. I can offer a variety of activities, including Gàidhlig nursery rhymes, nature scavenger hunts, baking, and small science experiments such as food colouring lava lamps.
I believe in a holistic approach to childcare and tutoring, supporting children’s academic, creative, and personal growth. Additionally, I have completed training in Social and Emotional Learning, which has strengthened my ability to provide supportive guidance and model positive social and emotional skills.
I am patient, reliable, and enthusiastic, and I enjoy helping children feel curious, engaged, and supported, whether through educational tutoring, homework help, or after-school activities.
