My Summary
About Me
I am a kind, generous, and creative person who is passionate about working with children and supporting their growth in both learning and wellbeing. With several years of experience as a teaching assistant across nurseries, primary schools, and SEN settings, I have developed a wide range of skills in caring for and educating children of different ages and abilities. My experience includes supporting children with additional needs such as autism, complex mental health, trauma, and medical conditions, as well as providing 1:1 care and leading small group learning.
I am confident in using creative strategies to make learning fun and accessible, whether through outdoor play, sensory activities, or age-appropriate games that build confidence and curiosity. Families and colleagues have described me as reliable, patient, and approachable, with the ability to quickly build positive relationships with children and provide a safe, nurturing environment.
I hold an enhanced DBS certificate (update service) and a full UK driving licence. Above all, I truly enjoy working with children and take pride in creating engaging, supportive, and joyful experiences that help them thrive.
My Experience
I have built a strong background working with children across a wide range of settings, including nurseries, mainstream schools, and specialist SEN provisions. My roles as a teaching assistant with John Donne Primary, Monarch Education, and Saint Richards Primary have given me valuable experience supporting children from early years through to Key Stage 2, both in whole-class environments and on a 1:1 basis. I have worked closely with children with complex SEN needs, including autism, PDA, trauma, and complex medical conditions such as diabetes, tailoring support to their individual requirements. In addition, I have experience leading small-group interventions in English and Maths, delivering creative, engaging activities, and using outdoor learning to support children’s development. These experiences have strengthened my ability to create nurturing, structured, and enjoyable environments where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
