About Me
I’m a qualified English teacher with over six years’ experience helping students of all abilities build confidence and achieve outstanding results. I’m passionate about making learning enjoyable, accessible, and tailored to each student’s needs. My Experience
I’ve taught English Language and Literature at secondary level since 2019, guiding GCSE students to exceed their target grades and develop strong reading, writing, and analytical skills. Alongside 8 years of classroom teaching, I have over 10 years’ private tutoring experience, supporting KS2, KS3, GCSE, and A Level learners across all major exam boards.
I’m experienced in teaching students with a wide range of learning styles and additional needs, including SEND and EAL, and I always adapt my lessons to suit each individual. My lessons are engaging and interactive, using digital tools, model essays, and personalised feedback to help students make rapid progress.
I also work as a Digital Learning Designer, creating online English resources that have improved student engagement by 25%. My aim is always to inspire a love of learning while helping every student reach their full potential.
My Qualifications
I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Secondary English from University College London (UCL), one of the UK’s top institutions for teacher education. This qualification equipped me with in-depth pedagogical knowledge, assessment expertise, and classroom management skills across Key Stages 3–4.
Prior to that, I completed both a Master’s degree in English Language and Linguistics (Merit) and a Bachelor’s degree in English (2:1) from the University of Leicester, developing advanced analytical, linguistic, and communication skills that underpin my teaching and content creation work.
In addition to formal qualifications, I have completed AQA Examiner Training for GCSE English Literature, enhancing my understanding of national assessment standards and ensuring precision and consistency in marking and feedback.
My academic and professional background demonstrates both subject mastery and a commitment to lifelong learning — combining expertise in English Literature, Language, and pedagogy with a strong foundation in digital content design, student engagement, and educational technology.
