About Me
Hello, I’m Ilona — a qualified Primary Teacher (QTS, 5–11) with a Psychology degree and over 9 years of experience supporting children academically, emotionally and socially. Alongside personalised tutoring, I now also offer Child Resilience Coaching for children who may be struggling with confidence, school-related stress, emotional regulation, anxiety or engagement with learning.
I believe children thrive when they feel emotionally safe, understood and genuinely valued. My work is rooted in the understanding that behaviour is communication, and that confidence and wellbeing are just as important as academic progress.
My Approach
I create calm, engaging and child-centred sessions where children feel safe to explore, make mistakes, ask questions and grow in confidence at their own pace. Every child learns differently, so I tailor sessions carefully to suit their personality, interests and individual needs — particularly for children with ADHD, autism, anxiety, SEND or low self-esteem.
My tutoring sessions focus on building strong academic foundations through encouragement, creativity and practical learning strategies.
Alongside the academic tutoring sessions, my Resilience Coaching sessions support children in developing emotional awareness, confidence, self-regulation and healthier relationships with learning and school.
I use:
* Creative and gamified learning approaches
* Emotional well-being and confidence-building activities
* Play-based and child-led exploration
* Mindfulness and regulation strategies
* Storytelling, art and imaginative learning
* Neurodivergent-friendly support approaches
Above all, I want children to leave sessions feeling more capable, understood, calm, more confident and certainly proud of themselves.

Let’s Chat
If you’re looking for a supportive, emotionally aware tutor and resilience coach who combines academic learning with genuine care, creativity and encouragement, I would love to help your child grow in confidence, resilience and enjoyment of learning.
My Experience
I have over 9 years of experience teaching across KS1 and Lower KS2, supporting children academically, emotionally and socially through creative, inclusive and personalised learning approaches.
I specialise in helping children build confidence in reading, writing and maths through engaging, structured lessons that combine phonics, storytelling, games and real-life learning. I have extensive experience supporting children with SEND, ADHD, autism, EAL and low confidence, using tailored strategies, scaffolds and intervention tools to help every child feel capable and successful.
Alongside academic progress, I place strong emphasis on emotional well-being, resilience and growth mindset, believing children learn best when they feel safe, understood and encouraged. My classes consistently showed strong improvements in engagement and attainment, including phonics outcomes increasing by 15% and closing year gaps.
I am passionate about hands-on, cross-curricular learning that brings education to life and helps children develop confidence, curiosity and enjoyment in learning.
