Emerald

Wonderful!

We’ve been incredibly lucky to find Emerald. From the very start she’s been calm, flexible, and intuitive, and the difference that’s made to our home has been huge.

Emerald uses initiative brilliantly and is happy to adapt to what’s needed on the day, whether that’s practical help around the house or getting fully absorbed in play. She’s been really on board with helping us make our space more functional, which will make a massive difference to how the household runs and feels.

She has a very natural way of getting on children’s level, respecting them, reading their cues, and meeting them where they are. She can be silly and playful when that’s what helps, but also steady and sensible when things need grounding. Emerald says she doesn’t have a lot of experience with neurodivergent children, but it was clear from my first conversation with her that she had a deep understanding of them. She makes an effort to recognise what they need, even down to letting them know she was planning a haircut in case it took them by surprise. So she’s extremely thoughtful as well.

What’s stood out most is the way she’s built a genuine connection with my son, who has previously struggled to form bonds with adults outside our family. Seeing him engaged, relaxed, and regulated with her has been huge for us. The house already feels calmer and more settled.

She also checks in with me, collaborates rather than takes over, and makes suggestions while still respecting how we do things as a family. She’s warm, approachable, practical, and very down to earth - someone who just quietly gets on with things in a way that makes life feel more manageable, and she is somehow able to just slide into the family dynamic, which has made the process of hiring her feel like something I should have done years ago.

I would recommend Emerald in an instant.
