My Experience

My journey with childcare began early. I started babysitting at 9 years of age, became a nanny at 15, and studied Early Childhood Education at university. Since then, I’ve gained over 30 years of experience working with children in various roles — from nannying and babysitting to leading entire childcare facilities as a Director of Child and Youth Services for the U.S. Army in Germany.

I’ve cared for children as young as 6 weeks and as old as 18, including spending several years as a full-time nanny for a lovely family in the U.S., where I helped raise their son from 3 months to 2.5 years old. I built a strong, lasting bond with both the child and parents, and they remain a reference I’d be happy to share.

When I moved to Germany, I took on a leadership role overseeing programs for children and teens on U.S. military bases — a position I held for over six years. It was a deeply rewarding chapter of my life, combining education, care, and a global perspective.
In recent years, I’ve been working in the corporate world, most recently for Red Hat, where I’ve received promotions, bonuses, and awards for my work. But despite the success, I’ve come to realize that my heart still lies in helping children thrive and supporting families day-to-day.
I would describe myself as warm, dependable, active, and down-to-earth. I love the outdoors, animals, cooking, and travel — and I’m always up for a toddler music class, swimming lesson, or a bit of imaginative play! I’ve always been an integral part of the families I work with — staying overnight or for extended periods when parents travel, supporting routines, and creating nurturing, enriching environments for children to grow.

I’m now looking to connect with a family whose values and approach align with mine — one that’s seeking more than a nanny, but a trusted partner in supporting their child’s early years.

My Availability

I am available Mon-Fri 8am-5/6pm. I am also available occasionally on weekends for babysitting or long-term care (if the family is away on holiday or business trips)

My Fees

• Babysitting from £20.00 per hour

As a well-experienced babysitter, nanny, and formal educator across all ages my fees would range from £30/per hour.
