My Summary
About Me
I am an 18 year old college student currently studying maths, biology and chemistry and I have a current valid DBS. I am enthusiastic and patient, looking forward to supporting primary school students in their learning. While this is my first time tutoring formally, I am highly motivated and committed to helping children build confidence and strong learning foundations.
I understand that every child learns differently, and I aim to create a calm, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I am happy to tailor lessons to support schoolwork, homework, and core skills in literacy and numeracy.
My Experience
I initially volunteered one evening a week to help with extracurricular clubs at my old primary school. I assisted the teachers in running the club and provided any additional support the students may need. This developed my value in difference and diversity and aided me in communication with different age ranges and learning needs. Additionally, since starting college, on my day off I am volunteering in year 1 as an additional teaching assistant to aid with reading, supporting students with additional needs, helping to lead P.E classes, teaching students in small groups for phonics, maths, science, history and R.E, and growing a strong relationship with the students.
Additionally, I have many years of experience in drama, having taken part in classes from a young age, which led me to supporting and teaching younger students and leading productions, in the Atkinson Theatre. Through this, I developed strong communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work patiently and positively with children of different ages and abilities. I am comfortable guiding students, giving clear and encouraging feedback, and keeping learners engaged through creative activities. This experience has helped me build skills that translate well to tutoring, including adaptability, organisation, and creating a supportive learning environment where children feel confident to participate and learn.
My Qualifications
At GCSE, I have 4 grade 9's in maths, history english literature and R.E., 4 grade 8's in further maths, chemistry, physics and food technology, 1 grade 7 in biology, 1 grade 6 in english language and 1 grade 5 in spanish. I also have an A* in EPQ and am predicted 3 A*'s in my A-Levels.
