Household Help in Abingdon (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
I’m a 24-year-old who graduated from university in the USA a few years ago, where I studied on a rowing scholarship. Over the past few years, I’ve spent time travelling and trying out a range of different roles, which has helped me learn a lot about myself and what I enjoy.
Through all of these experiences, I’ve realised that I really enjoy helping others and working with children. I’m caring, patient, and reliable, and I enjoy being active and supportive in a hands-on way. I’m currently exploring more permanent career options, but while I’m at home I’d love to help families who need an extra pair of hands, whether that’s with childcare, routines, or general support.
My Experience
I have a wide range of experience working with children of different ages and needs. I’ve worked as a camp counsellor for children aged 6–15, where I supported daily routines, activities, and group dynamics while helping create a fun, safe, and supportive environment. I’ve also volunteered in special needs schools, where I worked one-to-one and in small groups, learning the importance of patience, empathy, and adapting to each child as an individual.
Alongside this, I’ve worked with families and children in outdoor and water-based settings, helping to support and teach scuba diving activities. This involved building trust with both children and parents, explaining safety procedures clearly, encouraging confidence, and making sure everyone felt calm and supported in the water.
In addition, I’ve done a lot of dog sitting, house sitting, and pet care, which has helped me become very responsible, organised, and trustworthy. I’m comfortable managing routines, being proactive, and stepping in where help is needed. I genuinely enjoy supporting families and helping children feel safe, understood, and confident.
My Qualifications
I hold a Health and Social Care diploma and am trained in First Aid and CPR. I am also Emergency Response trained through PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors), which included emergency care, risk awareness.
In addition to my formal training, I have received positive reviews from previous house-sitting and dog-sitting roles, reflecting my reliability, care, and respect for people’s homes and animals.
