About Me

From a young girl I have always been interested working with children. Being raised around child minders and nurses has made me become extremely inspired and want to develop skills and in this particular course. In my opinion going through the path of working with child you have to be someone who is, confident, good listener, interpersonal skills and eager to achieve and learn to become better. In the process of ensuring I make the right choices, I spent a few weeks at Great Ormond Street hospital with my cousin who had a Micro laryngoscopy and bronchoscopy test because of her breathing problems at just 3 months and I saw how nurses where working in a partnership with the parents, seeing this made realise that supporting children and families is something I am interested in. When I would go to visit I saw how the nurses provided for her smallest of needs. This desire further enhanced and I knew from then it was going to be my long time goal to become work with children. What I also learnt was that you get to make a difference in someone's life. I feel that it will be rewarding and a lifelong experience that will bring me new challenges every day. I am eager to pursue a career in which I can work in a child care setting where I can have great satisfaction on helping and looking after children.
Studying Health and Social care and child development has made me aware of the essential knowledge and skills for studies in a health care setting. I have learnt how it is important to interact with all types of people from different backgrounds, which is something I now find easy. Learning this subject gave me a good insight because I gained valuable knowledge about the ways people communicate and interact along with the physical, intellectual, emotional and social needs that every individual has. I enjoyed Health and social because I was learning different methods that are used to develop a Child's development. Non-verbal communication skills are most important as a practitioner, Children sometimes find it very difficult to express themselves. I understand it's vital to have all this quality which I have learnt. I often do babysitting where I interact with my three & six year old nieces. During half term, I often design activities such as games, art, and crafts and helped them improve number skills through counting games. I’ve gained a valuable understanding in the way children should be spoken to and how vital it is to communicate with them, I have watched them improve and develop their skills each day. In my spare time I enjoy reading as well as socialising with my friends and family. I also I try to keep a good balance with my social life and my academic which I think is important. I have built up my confidence and has made me realise that I can work with a wide range of people from age, gender to character evidently using good teamwork and leadership skills.
I understand this course may come with challenges. However I strongly believe that with the qualities I have attained, I am capable of handling the challenges that may arise. I am a determined and hard-working student, enrolling for this apprenticeship for such a satisfying and powerful career in early years at your nursery which would be a privilege for me.

My Experience

Worked in a nursery for 3 years. During my apprenticeship at Busy Bee Nursery, I supported children’s development while ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. My responsibilities included implementing curriculum plans, managing feeding and napping routines, overseeing classroom transitions, and interacting with parents. I thoroughly enjoyed this role as it was both rewarding and a valuable lifelong experience. It taught me the importance of adaptability, as every day presented new challenges. I am eager to pursue a career in childcare, where I can find great satisfaction in supporting and caring for children.

My Qualifications

I am qualified but seeking an apprenticeship to gain hands-on experience.
