About Me
I am a teacher, who lives with my husband, our three children, dog and cat. I have two daughters, born Sept 2011 and April 2013, and a son born November 2016.
My Requirements
I am looking for an after school babysitter/nanny who could work 3-4 days a week, collecting our children from school and bringing them home and keeping them entertained/possibly doing their dinner, until perhaps 6pm. Our requirements are fairly flexible on days and times, and could be discussed with the right person. On some days, our daughter has after school lessons that she may need taking to, and so this may be part of the role depending on days agreed. A car would be needed for the role as we do not live in walking distance of the school.

My little boy started with Polly the week of his first birthday, when I returned to work. He spent just under 3 years with Polly, full time, and I was so sad when the time came for him to move on - particularly as Covid-19 and our family shielding cut his time there short.
Polly provides a warm and welcoming setting for for the young children in her care and as a parent, you really feel as though they are cared for. They have many wonderful learning opportunities each week, both at home and also out and about exploring the world. The learning is all through play, with opportunities provided for young people to direct their own play and learning which are very well suited to each developmental stage. Communication was consistently very good, and I felt like we were able to work together in a really joined up way to tackle things like potty training, or any behavioural issues that arose. In addition to that, he came home with some brilliant routines around taking his shoes off and putting them away, or tidying away his own toys - better than I probably would have managed to instil myself!
Polly doesn't just babysit, she focuses on the individual child's next steps and plans activities around their needs. It made such a difference to me, going back to a stressful job and knowing that he would be well taken care of in my absence.
My son learnt so much during his time with Polly, and I will forever be grateful for the wonderful start that he had in her setting, to help him become the confident, knowledgeable little guy that he is, ready to take on the world! I am so pleased that we chose Polly to look after our little man; we would recommend her and her setting whole-heartedly to anyone looking for a well-organised, high quality and caring setting for their child.
When I had to return to work just before my daughter's first birthday, I was devastated at the prospect of leaving her. I found the whole concept very difficult, and really struggled with it. Finding Lindsay was such a help, as she really smoothed the transition - for me, as well as for my daughter!
Lindsay provides a safe and stimulating environment for the children in her care, with a wide variety of activities completed across the course of the week. My daughter thrived in her care, and was very happy there. Meals are all prepared freshly, and are of good quality. Lindsay is very flexible, which was important to me given that my work doesn't always have predictable finish times. The written communication between Lindsay and myself on a daily basis, in the form of a journal, meant that I was always fully informed of both the structure and content of my daughter's day. Lindsay also kept a photo diary for me, of her activities and achievements.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Lindsay to any parent looking for childcare. She is experienced with the full age range, and genuinely cares for the children in her setting. I was very sad when my daughter had to say goodbye to Lindsay, and we all miss her and her children too. A wonderful childminder!
