We were very fortunate to have found Nancy when we moved to Bedford. Our daughter Naia was 2 years old when she started at Nancys and she really enjoyed her time there. They do a variety of activities at Nancys which really helped towards our little ones development. Nancy has always been great at communicating and caring for our little one. Even now 6 months later our little one still asks for her and misses her time there. I genuinely feel that Nancy took her time to understand our child and her individual needs and has worked with her based on this to help her develop her confidence as well as learning the alphabet. We couldn’t have found someone better. At Nancys all the children get involved in arts and crafts, outdoor/indoor play, various trips, parties and so much more. As working parents this isn’t something we’d be able to make the time to do. Thank you so much Nancy for all that you’ve done for Naia, we’re sad that we left due to finding a place at our local nursery which is across the road from us or otherwise Naia would still be there.

We chose Nancy to look after our 2 year old when we relocated to the area and couldn't have been more pleased with our choice. Our daughter has flourished under her care and is now more than ready for school.
Nancy has helped her develop in so many ways and has been such a big part of helping to shape the wonderful, funny and kind little girl that we have.
Nancy has gone above and beyond on countless occasions by helping us when we have been really unwell or have been struggling with some of the day-to-day challenges that come from being a parent. These are things that I wouldn't normally expect of a childminder, but is just one of the many things that make Nancy so wonderful.
The setting that Nancy has developed is brilliant and she takes the time to adapt the themes of the setting to the seasons or even to things that are currently in the news (like the Jubilee last year). She operates a structured day which is more akin to a nursery than a childminder, but still keeps her number small enough to provide plenty of 1-1 care (which our daughter really loves). This has really helped us all get ready for school and we can't be any more grateful for everything Nancy has done for us (especially helping so much with potty training!!)
She has been a wonderful support for both of us and our daughter and I honestly can't recommend her enough. If you are looking for a childminder, you should contact Nancy first!!

Nancy has been absolutely amazing. She is so down to earth and so committed to having lots of fun with the children. Our little girl was there from 2 years to almost 4 where she now attends pre school.
My daughter has had lots of fun with painting, going to the park, fun day activities such as the farm and soft play. She enjoyed the different parties Nancy has had (Chinese new year, Easter, Diwali, Halloween, Xmas) including the cakes they make, and other stuff they bring back. She is forever talking about going back and she enjoyed every moment.
As a parent, it's beautiful to see my daughter enjoying the activities. Also I enjoyed very much speaking with Nancy and getting to know her and the family. She is very passionate about her work and creating such a nice atmosphere. It's such an easy and natural choice to ask her as you know your child is in safe hands and will do an amazing job keeping my child fun and active.

My son has been at Nancys setting for two years, her warm and cuddly nature reassured me she would give him the comfort he needed whilst in her care. Nancy and Jo offer a variety of learning experiences such as dressing up, dancing, reading, walks, food preparation, tasting, water and sand play, painting, cutting and sticking. Nancy pays attention to significant days and prepares tailored activities for the children for the usual national holidays as well as days/weeks such as road safety awareness week, Diwali and nursery rhyme week. Louis is due to start school and I am confident that his time spent with Nancy and Jo has prepared him. I always felt I could contact her or speak to her anytime with any questions I have. They do an amazing job and I would highly recommend.

Nancy is amazing. With my maternity coming to an end, we were debating whether to put our son, George, into a nursery or with a childminder. At the time George was 9 months old and I was so worried about leaving him while he was so little. After a few settling in sessions we decided to put George in with Nancy, and we definately feel we made the right choice.
When George went in full time, Nancy was so reassuring and would regularly communicate throughout the day how George was doing, and would summarise in a Daily Log book. We always receive formal updates on his milestone progress with helpful little tips on what they were learning and we can do at home to help George with his development.
We spoke to Nancy a few times about our concerns with what we thought was a delay in George's speech, and she reassured us that he was fine and gave us activities to do with George, which she also did and now, we can't get him to stop talking.
George has made lots of friends whilst being with Nancy, the children all gel extremely well and I think this is a credit to Nancy. She's always off taking them for a new adventure, they do park visits, farm visits, safari parks, picnics, sports day, Halloween and Christmas parties and much more. When we're off on holiday we've been asked to take him a little Paddington Bear to take with us and take pictures, so that he can share his pictures with his friends when he gets home. George absolutely loves being there with his friends and it has never been a struggle to take him in and leave him.
George's relationship with Nancy is wonderful. Nancy is very caring and very patient with George, and is teaching him so much. Every week he has come home with bits of craft work that he has created that week, from road safety, healthy eating, manners to pirates, celebrations of different religions and commemorating Remembrance Day. He often comes home with different books that we are encouraged to read with him. She is so flexible and accommodates our sometimes changing hours, with my husband having to do shift work, and at short notice. I know that if an accident ever happens he is well looked after, I'm informed of the incident and George is happy to receive cuddles from Nancy until we pick him up.
During the pandemic Nancy was so so helpful, whilst we had George initially due to government instructions, as soon as she possibly could she had George, as my husband and I are key workers. In the time that she couldn't have George, she kept us informed of all the ever changing guidance and checked in on us regularly. She set up calls with George over Facetime, and as he celebrated his birthday during lockdown, she managed to reach out to all the parents of his playmate's to ask if all the children could sing him a happy birthday song and send is through. Which he absolutely loved. It's the little, personal things like this which make her so amazing.
Last year Jo joined Nancy and Jo is also incredible. George had spent time with Jo as Nancy would often meet up with Jo when Jo was childminding and they would take all their children to play with each other or picnic together. I've seen Jo on the floor with the children and is really engaging with them, I often think that George forgets that she's not his age when he talks about the fun things they have done.
Nancy and Jo have been so helpful in getting George school ready, they have been encouraging him with his writing and independence skills, we've noticed how much he is changing. We often get helpful activities we can again do to help them be more school ready, and Nancy and Jo will tell us on a personal level what we can do specifically to help George.
Whilst we are excited George is starting a new chapter at school, we are sad that he's leaving Nancy and Jo. Thankfully, George will be returning to Nancy and Jo for some of the school holidays.
I could not recommend Nancy enough, and I thank her for all that she has done for George and for us.

This childcare provider approached me via this app, offered to assist with what i needed.
She then took my number, had arranged for a visit. The childminder cancelled on the day. I asked for another visit and i was given a response for not sure. When i enquired will my child have a place, they replied with "sorry cannot assist anymore" & further explained. I did not reply. Not sure why i have been blocked on whatsapp because i was hoping to ask for availability after new year. Not sure why they approached me in the first instance to be rejected! I would not recommend this provider at all. Unorganised.

Many thanks for leaving a review. And I am very sorry you feel this way. You were not blocked on Whats app. So if you tried to message me you would find you could. Unfortunately things change in childcare and timetables and spaces we are allowed to offer. Also when funding is asked for ,we are not paid for this until the end of term if asked for during the term. We have to make a living as well as the next person. You did explain to me (before we had chance to arrange a second meeting) that you had found someone closer to you that could help you with Childcare and that you were going to visit. I wish you well in finding a childcare space. And I'm sorry you felt this way enough to give me such a bad review, considering you never met me or viewed my setting. I wish you well
Nancy looked after our son for almost 4 years. He was with her from 9 months old and stayed with her until he began school this year.
Right away, Nancy was kind, friendly and gave a home from home feel. My son really struggled to settle at first, and Nancy was so patient with him and gave him time to adjust to me going back to work.
Nancy provides daily updates on your child - via Whatsapp (photos and videos too of them enjoying their day) as well as the private Facebook group.
My son has started school as a confident and clever boy, excelling in his first few weeks, and that is down to all the years he spent in Nancy's care. The activities and play that she creates for the children are fabulous and they all enjoyed the days out, picnics and theme parties for special occasions.
Over the years, Nancy has become a family friend to us - we will always keep in touch and any future children I have will definitely be going into Nancy's fabulous care.

Nancy is a fantastic childminder! She took my boys in when they were 9 months and 3yo and she became like family. Very flexible when taking my boys to pre-school and school and for pick up times when I had to work late.
Her setting is perfect for the children, very clean and child friendly and they get up to all sorts of activities and days out.
Updates throughout the day and on a private Facebook group which is great to see when you miss so much of your kids growing up.
Very sad when we no longer needed Nancy as my boys created such a bond with her and her family.
Would definitely recommend and will be using again for my next child.

Nancy looked after my son from he was a year and 10 months and from the start i never had to worry shes nurturing and caring, she genuinely cares my son stayed with Nancy until he started school and the school said my son was advanced and i know i have Nancy to thank for that, she is flexible and has the right staff cant fault her

Nancy looked after my three children for 3 days a week, while I was at work and during half terms. The children were always really happy and enjoyed being looked after by Nancy. They especially enjoyed the arts and craft activities and occasional outings to the farm and park. I would highly recommend Little Acorns to Great Oaks Childcare.
