I am a fully qualified Level 6 Early Years Professional with over 18 years of experience in family support and early years education. I live on the Roman Gate estate in Leighton Buzzard with my husband and our three children — our son aged 18, and our daughters aged 13 and 8. Family life gives me a strong understanding of children’s differing needs at every stage of development and the importance of creating a warm, caring environment where children feel safe and secure.
I enjoy engaging with children through everyday experiences and conversations that help to broaden their knowledge, confidence, and understanding of the world around them. I carefully plan and provide a wide range of exciting activities including messy play, imaginative role play, healthy eating activities, outdoor exercise, social interaction, and regular outings. I strongly believe children benefit from a balanced day that includes both interaction and independent play, alongside a mix of 1:1 attention and group learning experiences.
Since 2020, I have worked alongside an assistant and now co-childmind with Heather. Together, we work between 9am and 3pm before providing different school pick-ups and wraparound care from our individual homes. This unique setup means your child benefits from two caring, experienced professionals, offering consistency, flexibility, and an extended support network for families. Parents also benefit from additional flexibility with hours, pick-up locations, and reliable holiday or illness cover.
As a child-led setting, no two days are ever the same. We regularly enjoy outings tailored to the children’s interests, including playgroups, music and rhyme sessions, soft play, parks, and outdoor adventures. We also hold passes for Mead Open Farm and Whipsnade Zoo, giving the children wonderful opportunities to explore, learn about animals and nature, and enjoy enriching real-world experiences.
My Experience
I have worked in both childcare and family support roles, including within a pre-school setting and a children’s centre environment. These experiences have given me a strong understanding of children’s development, family wellbeing, and the importance of providing nurturing, individualised care and learning opportunities for every child.
Following the birth of my daughter, I completed my registration with Ofsted and began my childminding career in 2013. Since then, I have built a warm, welcoming, and experienced setting where children are encouraged to learn, explore, and develop confidently through play and positive relationships.

Term time spaces available from September 2026.
School drop offs/collections available from Greenleas Derwent Road and other local schools dependant on times and availability. I am flexible in regards to days, hours and shift patterns and happy to accommodate irregular hours where possible. Contact me to discuss your needs.
Term time only contracts available. Ad hoc holiday care a possibility.
My Fees
- Childminding from £7.00 per hour
£7.50-8.00 per hour. Reductions for full time and/or siblings. Fees inclusive of weekly groups and consumables.
Daily healthy packed lunch provided by the family.
Childcare vouchers and tax free childcare accepted.
Nursery Education funding available from the term following 9months (available subject to family circumstances).
Emergency care also available. Please contact me to discuss.

My son attended Paula's setting from the age of 8 months until he started Reception. I am extremely grateful for the day I chose Paula as our childminder and, of course, my second child joined her as soon as she could too!
Knowing that my precious children are with Paula, and now Heather too, means knowing they are safe and exceptionally well cared for. Paula’s care for the little ones goes above and beyond in every aspect. There is always plenty of nurturing, fun, creativity, enriching experiences and support for their development.
Paula is incredibly skilled at meeting each child’s individual needs and ensuring they reach their full potential before becoming school ‘superheroes’. Her dedication and professionalism give us the peace of mind that every parent deserves.
It makes me incredibly happy to know that my children spend their days surrounded by little friends and creating wonderful memories 💕

You know it is beyond my (our) pleasure to care for your babies 😍
My girl started at Paula’s when she was 1 years old and is now 4. She came from a bad experience elsewhere which was explained to Paula and from day one my girl just settled so well, no tears or fear just pure happiness.
Paula and Heather both have very kind souls and this is what the children pick up on and learn from. My girl had a severe speech delay and both worked with me and her to communicate and learn. She will now be starting school in September and I have no fear that she won’t fit in as she can now talk and I really do believe the help at this childminders has been above and beyond.
They go on fun days out as well as group learning activities at the setting. There is clear communication about what activities the children have done as well as photos and WhatsApp communities.
My girl is always super excited for her day ahead with Paula and Heather and we will truly miss them when we leave this year for big school.

Our son has been attending Paula’s Playhouse since he was 7 months old, and now at age 3, we couldn’t be happier with the care, love, and support he continues to receive. From the very beginning, Paula created a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where our son has absolutely thrived. It’s been incredible to watch him grow in confidence, social skills, and independence over the years, all thanks to her consistent, child-centred approach. She goes above and beyond to plan age-appropriate activities that support his learning and development—from sensory play as a baby to creative arts, and outdoor adventures. We receive regular updates, photos and know he’s happy and in safe hands. As working parents, having someone we trust so deeply means everything & grateful for the lasting impact she’s had on our son’s early years and are looking forward to the impact she’ll have on our daughter who is joining her setting. Highly recommend!

Paula has offered no end of support to our family with our first child and we are planning to send our new baby to her too. Paula offers a stimulating environment in her own home with a huge variety of activities whilst also taking the children in her care to groups and on days out. Paula is professional, has high standards and offers thorough communication home.

Having found Paula using this website my 2 yr old has been at the Playhouse for over a year now. I am very happy with the care Paula gives him - she always goes above and beyond to accommodate our needs.
At the Playhouse they are always well stimulated in a safe and caring environment as well as going on outings to the local farm, toddler groups, soft play etc.
I never worry about my son when I am at work as I know he is safe hands and he is always very happy when I collect him.
I would highly recommend using Paula's Playhouse.

I was lucky enough to have Paula as my childminder for my son, who was 2 years old at the time. "Paula's Playhouse" is a great environment for any child of all ages. Paula creates a home from home as her setting, makes it fun, is very professional and cooked lovely home cooked meals. My son loved going there and it was always a very clean environment with a full agenda of activities. She does plenty of arts and crafts with the children and happily takes the children out to local organised soft play groups etc.
Great with medical advice and general tips on childcare. Paula genuinely loves her job and was always full of energy and ready for the daily challenging of childminding. I would highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a new childcare provider.
