Hi my name is Sue and I am a level 3 qualified registered childminder with more than 25 years experience. My last two Ofsted inspections (Feb 2016 & 2020) were rated Outstanding. I provide a warm, safe and stimulating homely environment for babies and toddlers.
We do lots of activities which include cooking, painting, gluing, play-dough, sand and water play and just having fun. I have a large garden that the children can play in with sandpit, water table, ride on cars, buggies, playhouse, etc. Indoors, I provide age appropriate toys which are easily accessed by the children. We regularly go to the park, woods, Bushey Rose Garden, toddler groups and soft play. We also visit the ducks, go to Bentley Priory to feed the deer and local farms to see the animals.
I do regular observations on the children's development and plan activities around their needs and interests. Every child has their own Learning Journey folder, this shows how your child is progressing in their learning and will contain some of the child's paintings, photos, observations and Next Steps. I also invite parents to view their childs observations on an online app called Capture Education, allowing them to see how their child is progressing. I send parents an update of their childs day on WhatsApp at every home time, this includes information on places we have visited, activities, sleep times, meals and nappy changes. I also send photos of some of the things they have done during the day.
I have been childminding for over 25 years and have looked after children of all ages and lots of different nationalities. I have minded children from 5 months old until they started secondary school.
I have attended many childminding courses which include Preschool practice, Managing Behaviour, Sounds and Letters, First Aid, Safeguarding children, EYFS training, 2 year old check, Basic hygiene, Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young Peoples Workforce.

Sue was simply wonderful with our son who starting with her at age 1.5 years - we couldn't be more grateful for the way she nurtured him. To be honest, we were a bit nervous when we started because of the pandemic and our son not having spent much time away from us. But he quickly became comfortable at Sue's place, and was happy eating and napping there within just a few days. He would be genuinely excited in the mornings, heading to her place 4 days/week. Sue would send us updates and photos regularly, which made the whole process so much more reassuring for us, and gave us things to talk with our son about once we picked him up. One of the many reasons we all loved Sue is that she is experienced and passionate about taking the kids outdoors in all weathers, and is prepared for everyone getting a little mucky. Indoors, she used to carefully curate a different theme every week which built up the children's interest and awareness of all kinds of things, from how penguins live, to what the Chinese new year is about. And, the regular dance parties! I could go on, but in a nutshell, Sue is excellent. Our son has moved on to a nursery now, but we all still smile and laugh when we talk about her.

Thank you so much for your lovely review!
Sue has looked after my son since he was 10 months and has been a vital part in his development and getting him ready for his next journey of going to school. I cannot express how thankful I am to sue for the love and care she showed my son, as a parent it’s hard to go back to work and trust someone with your child but Sue’s kind nature and warm heart puts your mind at rest and I couldn’t recommended her more.
Thank you sue for everything.

Thank you so much for your lovely review! It's been a pleasure caring for your Son, I'm going to miss you all.
Sue looked after my child since he was 9 month. She is a brilliant childminder and i would highly recommend her. I loved the learning journals she did and the quality of care she is giving to my little one . My child loved being with her. During the lock down she kept in touch, sending through videos on a weekly basis and giving us crafting material and ideas to experience with our little one.
She loves children and for us she is not only a carer, she is a teacher, a friend and a grandmother for my little one. It is such a rarity to meet someone that is so passionate about her job. I will highly recommend her!
Well, it's now 2014 and we have been with Sue for nearly 9 years now.
Since my last comment our son has developed a long term health.condition, which we have all struggled to manage and come to terms with. I'm certain many child minders would have felt that the responsibility would be too much. This was not the case with Sue. She has actively been involved with managing his care and health needs, and received training from the nurses relating to managing his health and medication. Since his diagnosis, Sue has been a real rock of support, and has kept us up to date when there has been any problems relating to his condition.
I would highly recommend Sue as a childminder.
I would like to echo becs 24's review.
Sue looked after my little boy from the age of 6 months up to 3 years until we relocated. If we could have taken her with us, we would have!! Any working parent knows how hard it is when we have to get back to work and intrust someone else with your child. I can honestly say Sue made it so much easier and I felt comfortable as soon as I met her.
With her wealth of experience and training, Sue is amazing with children, which reflected on my son's progress immediately and throughout and I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone and would certainly use her again if the opportunity arose.
