On route to Micheldever and Winchester train station for easy commute.
My care is focused on 0-3 year old children due to the fact I do not have any school runs to do this enabling me to focus on each child's feeding and sleep routine while offering them an early year education through play and exploring.
I have been childminding for 16 years and have two children of my own called Megan and Alfie, Meg is 16 years and Alfie is 11 years and they are both at school. They are both collected and returned to school everyday so I do not have any school runs to do. Meg and Alfie have always been with child-minded children and have always been very content and socially acceptable around others.
As a requirement of my registration, police checks have been made on both me and my husband Steve and both were clear, Steve and I have been married for 16 Years and been together for 20 years. Steve works as a local Farmer and leaves the house about 7.00am and returns around 6.00pm. My mother in law is also registered on my ofsted certificate to work as my assistant when needed. Full police checks have been carried out on her also.
Both upstairs and downstairs are registered in the house as I believe children need to have an area to sleep and rest in there own privacy if needed. Downstairs is all open plan so I can supervise the children at all times.
I have a large enclosed garden, and the children are always supervised when outside. We frequently take nature trails, splashing in puddles, poo sticks, picnicking or just run around with a kite. We visit soft play parks, and i have been trained in story time and music time as well as carrying out various arts and crafts, and other activities through out the day.
I provide fresh drinks throughout the day and fruit for snack time.
I have a child link book where I note the things that we have been doing and I may request for things to be brought in from home. However I also love to talk, but realize that this may not always be convenient at the end of the day so the link book works well as a back up. It also makes a lovely bedtime read.
I love the basics of life, making things out of shoe boxes and making music out of pots and pans etc. The seasons are a great way for children to learn and have fun with so much going on. We have our own vegetable patch and grown most of our vegetables from seeds so the children can get involved as much as they like. We have a lovely play house and easily double’s up as a snug for a cozy story time together.
There are many birds and wild life to explore and lots of walks in the area. We often do cooking and the children love to get involved with this. There may be times I ask you to bring a change of clothes and welly boots so the children can get messy. (We do lots of pumpkin carving in the autumn, be warned…!)
I believe that the parent is the expert on their own child and I will endeavor to comply with all your wishes. Each child is treated as an individual and the more information I have the easier my job is and the happier your child is in my care. Although it is important that we do not chat to long at the end of each day, your child wants your attention to him/herself, I do like to find time to have a brief information exchange at the beginning and end of each day. As a childminder I maintain strict confidentiality about you and your family and will never discuss anything you tell me with anyone, without your consent, unless it is important to the child’s welfare.

Janine has looked after our little boy for the last two years and is just wonderful. Her home setting is fantastic and her garden is a great outside space. She is considerate, caring and willing to go the extra mile. Our little boy loves going to "Ni-Ni's" house and we will all be very sad when he leaves. An outstanding childminder!
From the moment I met Janine I just knew she was the right person to look after our little boy. She is passionate, professional and outstanding at what she does but more than anything she is incredibly caring of the children she looks after.
Before we found Janine, I had looked at various nurseries and met a handful of childminders but none that made me feel as though the setting was quite right for us. Janine's house is homely, welcoming and clean and tidy and she has excellent resources and toys for developing growing minds. Her garden is amazing! Our son gets to enjoy music, arts and crafts, and other sensory activities. It's also lovely to see how brilliant her own children are with the little ones.
Janine herself has become more than just our son's childminder; she really nurtures our little boy and is a real partner to us. She listens to our concerns, offers great advice and as a result we really feel as though we're all working together. Our little W is headstrong (to say the least!) and has pushed boundaries since before The Terrible Twos, but Janine's patience and love means he had thrived in her care since Day 1.
We really cannot thank Janine enough and feel incredibly fortunate to have found her.
We feel so fortunate to have been able to send our daughter to Janine! When I started looking for childcare, our daughter was just over 1year old and the nurseries I looked at just didn't fill me with enough confidence. However, as soon as I stepped into Janines lovely welcoming home and started talking to her, I was instantly put at ease and knew that our daughter would have the best of care here.
Janine herself is very professional, warm, loving and passionate about her job. Shes very reassuring and gives great regular feedback. I've felt like I can approach her with anything and she's given me so much good advise over the time my daughter has been there. She has done wonders with our rather demanding little girl and really allowed her to flourish and grow. We can't thank her enough for the wonderful care and attention she's given her.
Her home is very clean, tidy and well organised and her garden is a fabulous area for play/learning/exploring! Her children are just wonderful and whenever I've seen them, they love being around the little ones.
Janine has extended knowledge of early years development and manages this in a fun creative loving home from home setting . My husband is a dr and I work with families when they r having their children teaching parenting and I would not hesitate to leave my children in her care as I would know they would be safe happy and treated as individuals with their own needs being met . Her setting and resources are great for encouraging development . They are creative and constantly changing . Her flexibility is very good for Drs hours . She is very approachable when discussing issues around your child and caters for all development needs.
We feel so lucky to to have found Janine almost 5 years ago. My eldest daughter spent over 2 very happy years in Janine's care- and our youngest is still with her now. Both children have loved their time at Janine's- it really is a wonderfully warm and caring home-from-home environment where the children are welcomed as part of the family. The home and garden are perfect spaces for little ones- impressively tidy and organised but with lots of inviting toys and fun spaces to explore. Janine always has a wonderful activity of some sort planned- from baking to art and craft, to pond dipping, pooh sticks or teddy bears picnics in the woods.
I've watched both my girls thrive and their confidence blossom from time spent with Janine. I'm also grateful for the time she has spent giving us much needed advice on dealing with behaviour issues we are having at home. Janine provides frequent feedback either by way of home link book, text messages/photos throughout the day telling us what they're getting up to, or phone calls to chat about anything she may think is important. Overall we are very happy and feel very fortunate indeed and we would recommend Janine wholeheartedly.
