Nanny in Truro (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
Currently: On maternity leave.
Thank you for taking time to read my profile. My name is Rebecca and I am qualified to level 6. I have been nannying for the last 8 years.
Caring for children has always been a passion of mine. Since undergoing my first work experience within a Pre-School I have geared my education towards the educational / childcare sector as I knew this was right for me. I have since graduated in BA (Hons) Education and Training specialising in Early Childhood Education and I am now working as a self employed full time Nanny.
I have a calm, patient and loving nature. In my own time I love to go gig rowing, cycling and also enjoy knitting and sewing children’s clothing.
I hold a clean driving licence and I am willing to travel to Truro, Redruth and surrounding areas.
My Experience
Since secondary school I have taken every opportunity available to work alongside children, coaching, teaching and supporting them, in many different circumstances. The key motivator in my experiences with children is being able to see them develop characteristics and their own personality throughout their early childhood.
Alongside my education I carried out many work placements in a variety of settings to widen my experience. My first placement was at a local pre-school, This establishment provides care and support for children from birth to the age of five years. I was able to work shoulder to shoulder with children of all ages This gave me the responsibility of ensuring they were staying safe, kept healthy, making a positive contribution with others and enjoying the play based indoor and outdoor environment.
I was able to complete a second work placement. In a day nursery. It was a forty two place nursery, ages spanning from eighteen months to four years.
Further to this I have gained experience working with children in KS1 of a primary school. I worked alongside children of the ages five and six , as well as working within a team of teachers and teaching assistants
I have worked my way up from a nursery nurse to senior nursery nurse then promoted again to team leader/ deputy manager within a nursery.
Duties include: assuming full responsibility for all children and staff within the nursery, deploying staff efficiently, setting targets, meeting deadlines, taking enquiries, viewings and managing waiting lists, dealing with finances, completing accounts and funding forms, carrying out key worker role in a exemplary manor, writing centre reports and weekly occupancy figures, managing weekly registers and staffing. Undergoing health and safety checks, fire tests, planning checks, consumable orders, as well as duties of the Senior Nursery Nurse.
Senior Nursery Nurse duties include: supervising staff and ratios of day nursery, being held responsible for opening and closing of the building, compiling daily registers, as well as the duties of the nursery nurse
Nursery Nurse Duties which are as follows:Caring for a key group of children 0-2 years and pursuing daily routines, observing and planning for children's learning and development via indoor and outdoor play, compiling evidence for children's learning journeys, maintaining the welfare requirements, upholding the safely of the children, preparing breakfast club, snacks and tea, as well as washing and cleaning.
I also have a 13 year old nephew, 8 year old and 7 year old nieces. I have supported my sister by looking after them both on a regular basis since they were born.
Most recently I have worked as a nanny, and have been since 2015. I have worked with children from 10 months and have watched them grown up and confidently move on to school. I also offer school pick ups for siblings and have experience in caring for older children up to the age of 13.
I offer a nanny share at a discounted rate.
I am currently not looking for work at this time unless a job came up with the ideal family. The ideal family would allow me to bring my babies with along with me. This is particularly Ideal if you are looking for a more social aspect of having a nanny as your little ones would have someone to play along side.
