About Me
I am a 43 year old mother to 2 little monkeys, a girl and and a boy who attend full time education.
I consider bringing up children one of the most rewarding jobs and I believe children are our best teachers in life.
What I love the most about working with children(and about spending quality time with my own) is simply the opportunity to share their wisdom, their free thinking, their creativity, their daily wonder and the playful way in which they live life. Living in the moment and at their own pace. :)
In my spare time I love crafting, knitting, crocheting, cooking, reading and drawing.
I love the outdoors, storytelling and I am passionate about mindful living and all that has to do with yoga, meditation and conscious parenting.
My Experience
I have worked with children most of my working life. From teaching English and Spanish to nannying and childminding. I have extensive experience in education and childcare.
I have had the privilege to work with babies and children between 0-11 year old.
Having 2 children of my own has provided me with the invaluable experience of looking after newborns and I have gone through all milestones such as weaning, teething, potty training and other transitions that come with age and all developmental stages.
As a childminder, in my bilingual setting, I had the privilege to care for many children, welcoming them and their parents as part of my own family. I always made sure that the children in my care had the best care in terms of nutrition, physical, social, emotional and cognitive development.
I provided children with a safe environment for them to explore, to play and where we loved bringing our learning activities outdoors to gain physical, stimulating and fun play.
My Qualifications
At present working with children with hearing impairment in Early Years, Primary and secondary school. I am also working towards a Parenting instruction certification and studying towards a Teaching qualification in Waldorf Education
Level 3 in Early Years Education
Level 4 Diploma in Child Psychology
Level 3 Diploma in Writing for Children.
First aider, DBS checked; Food Hygiene and Child Protection trained.
I have also taken several courses on Storytelling for children and I am continuously either training or self-studying in areas that are relevant to my field as I believe there will always be something new and exciting to learn in order to improve my own practice for the benefit of my own family and the children I look after.
