About Us

Welcome to Alexandra Primary School, and thank you for wanting to find out more about us.

Alexandra is a friendly and welcoming school where pupils experience a happy and fulfilling education. We value every child and nurture the success in all pupils both academically and socially.

We believe in developing children’s love of learning and this starts in our nursery and continues all the way to Year 6. We set high expectations of personal achievement and moral standards and work hard to ensure that every child fulfils their potential.

The school values of Excellence, Exploration, Nurture and Community are at the heart of everything we do and we take pride in our commitment to establish lifelong learning. We want children to develop a deep body of knowledge, so that as our pupils progress through the curriculum they can demonstrate their detailed understanding in all subject areas. This offer is further enhanced with our ambition to ensure that classroom learning is enriched with school trips, visits from professional experts and, in the upper school, overnight residentials. Through these experiences, we hope to empower the children, so that by the time they reach Year 6 they have a strong foundation of skills and knowledge and are ready for the transition to secondary school.

We are fortunate to have excellent facilities that enable us to provide inspiring learning opportunities. Following our expansion from an infant to a primary school in 2016, we now boast new key stage 2 classrooms, an outside multi-use games area, a computing suite and also our own forest school. Our vibrant spaces are all supported with modern technology with laptops and tablets accessible for pupil use and a remote learning platform to strengthen the home-school partnership.

Teachers are fully invested in creating opportunities for memorable academic, social and emotional learning. Staff work in partnership with parents to meet individual needs and strive for continuous improvement, so that children enjoy their learning and make great progress.

Our Childcare Provision

• A daily club that runs from 3.25pm to 6pm during term time and teaching days.
• A safe and nurturing environment where children can come to relax and have fun.
• A club that welcomes and celebrates difference and diversity.
• A club where every child can shine and learn how to keep healthy and stay safe.

The children are collected from their classroom by a member of the ASC team.

Between 3.30 & 4.00pm the children will be provided with a healthy snack. We provide a light meal at 4.30pm, which includes:

Bread, crackers, wraps, bagels, pitta bread, English muffins, rolls
Butter/spread, marmite, cheese spread, cheese, chicken, ham
Minimum choice of 2 vegetables daily.
Minimum choice of 2 fruits daily
Fruit yoghurt
Water

Healthy Eating Guidelines will be followed and fresh fruit and water will be available throughout the session.

Please inform us personally of any special dietary requirements.

Our experienced and friendly play workers provide a safe and supportive environment.  Our staff team will be kept consistent where ever possible to provide a more stable environment for the children.  All our staff are aged 20+ and have been CRB checked and the children will already know them from the school.  The Ofsted Registration standards ensure that we operate within their guidelines and a ratio of staff to children is recommended at 1:8 for children under 8 years of age and 1:10 for children above 8 years of age.  We aim for a ratio of 1:8 for all children.

We work hard to keep our costs to a minimum and offer value for money. Each session costs £13 per child. For siblings attending the same session the cost is £12 for the second child and subsequent children. If your child attends an after school activity club then the Afterschool Club, there is a reduced price of £9.

We accept Childcare Vouchers.
