About Me
I live in Branston with my dog, Dexter (a 'Westie-poo' who adores children and is as soft as grease) and our cat, D'Arcy.
We are a close-knit family, with my parents living on the next street, and my son and his fiancée about a mile away. My Mum and my son are both registered with Ofsted as my assistants and all three of us are qualified in paediatric first aid.
During non-pandemic times, I regularly attend various toddler groups with the younger children I look after (including Storytime at our local library and Music and Movement). I am a Forest Childcare Provider, meaning that we spend lots of time outside, either in my garden, at the park across the road from me, walking Dexter through the woods or across the fields. We also visit places of interest further afield, when possible.
During school holidays, I like to get out and about with the children as much as possible. Picnics at Hartsholme Park / Whisby; visits to The Collection for arts and crafts and storytime; trips to Sherwood Pines Forest Park or Hubbards Hills are just some of the trips we have had and plan to do again. (All dependent on Covid restrictions).
My Experience
I have been a Childminder for 9 years now, and the children I currently look after are aged between 2 and 8 years old.
Prior to that, I was a Primary school teacher - I have taught every age group from Reception up to Year 6.
I also have extensive experience of looking after children with special needs, and supporting their parents.
My Qualifications
I am a qualified Primary Teacher, with BA (Hons) History (First Class) and PGCE Primary with QTS.
I hold an up-to-date Paediatric First Aid certificate.
My Availability
I am available between 7.30am and 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am to 4.00pm on Fridays as my core hours. However, if you need childcare outside of these times, please ask as it may be possible.

My Fees
- Childminding from £4.20 per hour
I charge £4.00 per child per hour. This includes all snacks and regular activities.
I also offer 30 hours per week funded places for 3 and 4 year olds, and 15 hours per week funded places for eligible 2 year olds.

Our Son has been going to Nicki since he was 10 months old, he's now 20 months and loves Nicki like she's one of the family. He loves going to her and learns so much from her too. She takes him on wonderful trips out that really build his confidence and skills and the updates we get on Tapestry and in his notebook are fantastic to look back on and to also see what he did on the day.
The interaction he gets with children his age, older and younger is fantastic and has really helped him develop when playing with other children.
We are beyond happy with Nicki and are so lucky to have found her! We can't recommend her highly enough!
